I'm looking to change the rear shock on my Stereo Hybrid 160 hpc sl 750 2022 and noticed the info on the cube website states the shock is 205x60 (only on the desert sand colour).
The shock has 205x65 engraved onto the shock.

I've checked the other model variations on the cube website and they all seem to say 205x65 shock length.

Can anyone confirm the shock stroke length. I'm presuming it's a mistake on the cube website just want reassuring before I spend money on a new shock.

I've contacted cube but so far had no reply.

205-65=140

That’s the stroke length for the 140 models, at the risk of stating the obvious.

I have a 140 SL HPC and swapped my shock out for a Fox Factory upgrade and used those numbers.

No idea what the 160 spec is, but it should NOT be those numbers, right?

Thats wrong.

205 is overall shock length
60/65 is the stroke

For Cube models the 140 and 160 equates to rear wheel travel in mm. The 140 and 160 CAN use the same size/spec shock as its suspension kinematics that define rear wheel travel.

@ebob
You very well could have a 205x65 shock and have a 5mm reducer in it to make it 205x60. Its very common to have reducers in shocks as Fox and RS make it easier to make one size then add spacers to suit a wider variety of applications.

Just to update this. I've had a response from cube regarding the rear shock detail on their website:

We can confirm that the shock dimensions listed in the archive are faulty and that the actual shock dimensions are 205x65.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with further suggestions or further information as only the factory-fitted components have been tested and released.

Advice regarding changes to components may be provided exclusively by authorised CUBE dealers. Your CUBE dealer can discuss your requests with you personally and find a suitable solution. Please note that technical changes may only be carried out by an authorised CUBE dealer.

So if you're looking to do any upgrades it looks like only an authorised cube dealer can do it. Presuming this will affect warranty as well.

Beautiful response from their bureaucrat :)

Do you want to change because it's broken, or looking for an upgrade ?

If it's a rockshox shock then type the part number that's found on it in here:

It'll tell you all the info about your shock and also give you psi and rebound settinga based on your weight. Works for their forks too.

This is my rear shock, the number you want is the top one. Trailhead shows mine having EYE TO EYE of 205 and STROKE of 65

And here it is on my forks:

The 140 is a 150mm 205x60 in the rear
The 160 is a 160mm 205x65 in the rear
