Rear axle spinning

Hi,

During a ride yesterday, suddenly my derailleur starting making some ghost shifts and generally playing up. I got off and noticed despite my rear quick release being closed, I could spin it round. Took the bike home and noticed that the insert in the frame to which the rear axle tightens into could be spun round and even taken out of the frame. I'm sure this is not normal. I can't seem to tighten the axle into the frame at all.

Picture of inset below.
Anyone else had similar?

the bolt insert looks like it has a keyway. Is there a matching keyway in the frame? If so it looks like the key has eiither fallen out or disintegrated.

I hate quick release axles on the rear. I had a similar issue on a different bike and swapped for a non quick release that I could torque tighten and put a dab of locktite on.

Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look again when I'm back at home, perhaps it had a retaining screw that has fallen out.
I've emailed Whyte to ask, as I'm not home for a few days.

from the pics it looks like a screw is at 3pm on the frame that has come loose and what secures it in the frame so try put it back in and line it up and tighen the screw and add lock tight ;)
@shockwave is right...I just checked my E180 and there is a very small grub screw ..probably 2mm in the frame at 9 oclock ( bike the right way up!)

I'm going to take a guess that this grub screw probably came out mid ride and that's why it's undone itself. I won't be able to check for a few days. Hopefully I can get a new one from Whyte.
