Before you all get excited it’s not that readers wives ?
My question is how many of you guys out there have girl friends, partners or wives that ride ebikes
Along side you.
I ask this question because my wife keeps saying why is there not that many women riding ebikes , she sees me on this forum and said it would be good to hear from other women , about there riding experiences, clothing choices, skill sets , bike setups and many more questions related to a woman’s experience of ebikes.
I totally love our biking days out and for a mid forties woman who’s only started riding anything on two wheels 3 years ago im really proud of how she’s progressing.
Back to the old saying couples who play together stay together ??

My GF rides mountainbikes (MBL qualified leader) but she's a beginner in comparison to me when it comes to tech (riding or bikes in general). I give her one of my light full sus bikes and either ride my 4X hardtail (small/high gear range and street tyres) or my E-Sommet but switched off to even us out to enjoy riding together (calm down now) off-road.

She's not shown much interest in trying the Ebike.

as for clothing, I'm planning on getting her some for Xmas so keen to hear from other female riders. I'd just buy the female version of what I know is decent for me TBH.

Im surprised that she has not jumped straight onto the ebike thing, i would have thought that given the chance it would be the first thing that she would try.
I know that Emma and Tracy that used to run the Glentress hub and im sure that you will know them. are both on ebikes.

my mrs rides ebikes and other bikes, shes a much better rider than I am and races enduro. this year she completed the full "ard rock" which is no mean feat
when it comes to kit she has a definite case of logo-itis which is expensive
we ride together a fair bit sometimes on ebikes and sometimes shes on her other bike but its very good

@Gary and @ccrdave I’m screwed with the clothing with our lass she only wants what I’ve got or better ?
Bought myself a pro frame last week 320 dump later two were purchased one for me and one for her.
She,s got fox demo pant , poc knee and shin protector, impact shorts , Oakley crowbars
Troy lee A1 , and a pro frame now the list goes on.
The only trouble is when we are out she hates it when people say R8 lads when we ride past together. But I’d rather her be safe and protected.
The girly extreme mtb clothing seems very limited, she has yet to find a pair of gloves that actually fit because her hands are tiny , which is a great plus for me though ?
So most of her kit is for male riders
I seriously don’t go easy on her either she’s done reds ,blacks ,jump sections.
Sometimes I forget she’s my Wife and just assume she’s following me till I get to the bottom of the run and realise what she’s just come down.

I'm ok my GF has a similar sized head to me... I have loads of helmets including 2 TLD D2s so she just borrows one of mine if she's here. I never wear a helmet at all when we ride together.

I agree protection is best left to girls

Just not interested, does want to learn to wheelie, manual and jump though which are all much easier to learn on a regular hardtail. Her own bike is just an ancient Edinburghbicycle hardtail. does the job fine though.

Yeah. Known them for years. Not bumped into either of 'em for a while though. Cool to know two of the fittest female ex-pro mtbers are also now Ebiking.
The Valley should by rights be filled with Ebikes but Ebike fear is rife among the cool crowd at No1 etc. (which is batshit mental considering most of them only ever ride 11miles but 4000ft)

I dont see them much these days either, but spotted them last month when we did an uplift at Inners and they also had another friend on an ebike with them.
You are right about expecting more ebikes in the valley, However i think they are mostly going to the trail centres, but i have seen a few at the Golfie and Dunkeld.

I have dated a lot of women over the years that rode bikes. Wether they were racer types, adventurists or weekend warriors.
But my wife doesn’t ride and it’s probably saved our marriage on more than one occasion. Riding for me is my escape, a time where I can gather my thoughts and not have to answer phones or questions. If my wife and I have an argument or disagreement, I go for a ride and can focus on what I could have done better. I have an easier time seeing things from her perspective.
With the the women in my life that rode, I didn’t have this escape.

Missus refuses to ride my ebike saying ‘If I ride that I’ll want one’. Too right!

Stuck with riding analogue mtb with her - but that is ok by me. ?

Yikes - I’d advise avoid posting on this thread - never had porn feed in the ad banners from emtb before. ? Have now.

An issue for the moderator?

Goodbye emtb.

I have just scrolled through this entire thread and apart from the EMTB banner invting me to become a patreon and avoid ads, there is only one advert on here and that is for an EMTB tee shirt and beanie hat.
