Raymon trailray.. worth a punt?

I've been riding bikes for years (current bike: canyon nerve AL+), but have recently been considering getting an emtb. I'd initially been looking at getting a used bike something around £2K mark, but stumbled across this deal and wondered what the consensus is...

From what I can tell Rayman is a fairly new brand set up by some of the Haibike founders. I'm not sure if it's a unique frame design of their own or a rebranded off the shelf frame. The components look fairly mid range with some wheels i've never heard of? + Yamaha PW-x3 motor.
Is it better to go for a brand new with warrantee but lower spec. Or a higher spec but 3/4 years old and used ?

Don't get a used one unless you know and trust the seller, or you know what you are doing.
There is a lot of advice on here on what evidence to look for about a used ebike.

according to their website, Raymon have no UK dealers, and I would guess that Pauls Cycles have picked these up in some sort of a fire sale (I've an idea Raymon still have some ties to the financially troubled Pierer Mobility group). It's got to be one of those "too good to be true" scenarios, and I imagine if you were to give PC a call they'd give some sort of explanation, I'd certainly be wondering what sort of customer support is going to be available. If you were to up your budget a bit closer to £3k, you could get a used Gen3 Specialized Levo Comp with some of the 2-year transferable warranty remaining, but make sure the seller has the original receipt. If you're in Hampshire you can't be that far from Berkshire Bikes in Crowthorne who offer an amazing service to Specialized owners, even if they didn't buy the bike from them. Once out of warranty, a new 700Wh battery can cost around £600 via Specialized assisted purchase scheme (again, you need the original receipt) and motors can be repaired (water ingress is a common thing for most e-bike motors) at e-bike motor centre in the New Forest typically for around £250.

If you check out the GasGas ECA, it's the same bike rebadged over to the GasGas name. When you look closely at the GasGas frame, it still has the Raymon logo engraved into the rear of the seat tube visible through the paint, and the handlebar etc just have GasGas stickers over the Raymon logo, so it is definitely Raymons design. All part of the same company. Can't comment for support in the UK though.

EDIT, just seen your other thread and that you have already worked this all out. I have the GasGas version hence finding all the covered up Raymon logos.

Raymon have released their 2025 range a few months back and pretty sure Specialized warranties aren't transferable .

   • 2-year Warranty from the date of original retail purchase for the following Specialized-branded Products: frames and framesets, including paint and graphics, components, equipment, shoes, helmets, and Roval wheels. This also includes co-
     branded suspension parts such as BRAIN equipped forks and shocks, and motors and other drive system components on electric bicycles.
   • Specialized-branded batteries equipped on electric bicycles: 2-year Warranty from the date of original retail purchase or up to 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first. The batteries are designed to retain up to 75% of their original capacity during that time

For the rocky it's 5 years on the frame and 2 years on battery and motor. Also transferrable to second owner.
