Hi
I'm looking at buying my first Emtb, a crafty R but can't decide which size to go for. I'm 5'10"
But with shorter legs and longer body. Any advise would be great.

Welcome to the forums.

If I was between a medium and large size frame, I would size down and choose the medium. I’m 5’9” and ride a medium sized Trek frame. There’s always a certain amount of flexibility with your personal geometry which can easily be adjusted or changed. But your frame size cannot be adjusted.

It can be difficult to make a large sized frame feel like a medium. Try some different configurations or have your LBS help with the fit and sizing.

Cheers

you need to sit on a few sizes. (y)

I have a Trek Rail5 in Medium - bought after consulting Trek's sizing charts and as I'm on the border of medium & large erred on the smaller (medium) size....
it always felt cramped, the handlebars seemed too close to my knees and I felt like I was riding the front of the bike when standing🤨. ALSO I aparently looked like a gorilla on a tricicle when riding🤣🤣🤣
I tried a mates Large frame Rail and it was better but didn't feel 'right'🤷‍♂️

so I started looking at other bikes.....

iirc, Mondraker sizeing is on the smaller side (I looked @ them before buying a Canyon)

as to shorter legs, look into the standover hight (longer arms wanting a longer reach?)

Rich.
