I just picked up a 2nd turbo, but this one is a Vado SL (EQ but I took the ugly rack and fenders off right away). I can't seem to find any useful info like the service manuals or recommendations for mods, it seems like most of the vado groups just like to take pictures of their panniers and baskets with dog's in them. Oh well I guess Ill just try and find the levo SL threads for info on the SL motor and TCU calibrations. I can say I do like the 28mph cutoff vs the horrible 20mph cutoff our levo's have, but will probably "tune" that out too once I figure out a way to re-calibrate the TCU.

First mods are contact points like always, upgrading from a 38c to 42c gravelcross type of tire and tubeless, a pair of crankbrothers flats that match my other bikes, new grips, brooks or similar saddle, and probably the MT5 signature brakes if I can make them work, as the brakes leave a lot to be desired. I may try and convert the head tube to the "future shock" and find a carbon fork also, but still not sure if that is a gimmick or not.

More to come, and pics too for anyone who cares.

I've been eyeing a Vado SL myself. I'm 70, I picked up Levo last year, and it changed my life. All I want to do is ride. I put 1000 mile of single track on my Levo, sold it in January and bought a Rocky Mountain Instinct which now has 800 miles on it, should have been more but I was down for three month for knee replacement. What I'm thinking is Vado SL as a gravel bike. Is that where you're heading?

Yep trying to find some good gumwall’s that will see light gravel and road use.

This sl motor has def impressed me with this light bike, feels almost as quick as my levo. So keeping it light will be key.

Biggest irritation with this bike is the stupid lights; they dont turn off ever, and when you charge the bike it turns the lights on and you have to turn off the bike again. Specialized really needs to put a switch on these lights.
