Prospective E-MTB rider in SoCal

Hey everyone,
Longtime rider of all varieties of MTB/road cycling and motorcycles (on and offroad). FF eMTBs have never captured my interest (probably because I'd rather just take out my dirtbike instead), but lightweight bikes like the Levo SL and Rise certainly look compelling. Just doing research at the moment, but leaning towards the Rise. My current MTB is a Kona Process 153. Will post back with pics if/when I end up with a new bike.

Just to add, this forum has been a really helpful source of information for me so far, compared to other MTB and cycling forums. It's really great to see an engaged and active community of riders sharing information and ideas. Any discussion of eMTBs on other cycling forums often devolves into a shouting match for/against electrification in general. Thanks to all of you whose posts I've read through in the past few weeks . I hope I can contribute to others from my experience as well.

l've been a regular MTB rider since 2013 and resisted "cheating" on an Ebike until now.

Having just bought an Ebike, l have to say that l've not had so much fun on a bike in ages.

I still ride my regular bike, a Foxy R, but going out on the Ebike is a different kind of ride. lt's still a bike ride, particularly if you set the assistance so that you have to put some effort in.

l use ECO 90% of the time. ln ECO the maximum assistance is limited and you have to pedal harder to get it.

l came back from my ride tonight fairly knackered, l had obviously put less effort into the hills, but had done twice the distance that l normally ride.
