Proper cassette?

My Ebike came with a 10S 11-36. Day 1 i switched to 10S 11-42. When it is due to change i am thinking of replacing it with a 10S 11-46. I do not need that 46 so i simply would use 9S. This would generate less shifting and less need for 2 shifts in a row.
Have you used a 10S 11-46? What brand was it? Where you satisfied?
Wich cogs does it uses, 11-13-,,,,, 46 ?
My chain, derailleur are no problem.
I want to be near the 8S used by some Ebikes but without their huge gaps.
I am quite sure i would like it if that cassette offers me quality shifting.

Why don't you just put the original 11-36 back on the bike ? You say you don't need the 46, so the 10s would give you a better spread of gears over the range you use ? You're more likely to find yourself in the gear you need/want.

Are you double shifting up ? So you're accelerating so fast that you need to jump two gears ? Or is this when you're going from flat to descent and preparing for a higher gear as you go ? so just pedal and change through the gears ?

Or when shifting down ? So you've got to a steep section and not anticipated correctly and been caught out so you're having to double shift to get a low enough gear ?

Or just for the type of riding you do, you don't need that many gears, so you're double shifting ? In which case maybe a nice simple hub gearbox with less gears and less maintenance ?

The 11-36 offers less range than the 11-40 i would use and demands more shifts.
The 11-36 is an old cassette designed pre-Ebikes. I do not need that close cogs.

durable (all steel)
good spacing (ratio jumps)

Ebike specific cassettes are incredibly poor value and offer absolutely nothing of benefit in either durability, range or ratios.

it's sort of retarded buying an 11-42 if you'll absolutely never use the 42.

the jumps in ratio are better (more even) on the 10 speed 11-36 than the 9 speed 11-36 (or indeed a 10 speed 11-42 or 11-46)

The 11-36 is an old cassette designed pre-Ebikes. I do not need that close cogs.

Most cassettes around were not designed with ebike use in mind.
