Praxis 36t chainring on a Levo

I'm getting one of these, are they a straight swap?

I read that there was no need for the chain length to change which is good, but does the chain guard adjust enough for the 36t?

Quite a few of us have gone with ali fronts. Slight weight and noise improvements. Haven’t seen anyone report rapid wear. I went with renthal.

I’ve got a 36 hope front ring on mine and the chain guide is fine.

I think only the Praxis one is a straight swap the others like my Hope one require new bolts.

I put one on a Kenevo. Went straight on, it's threaded so you can use the original bolts. No problem with the chain guide. There's a few threads on it if you search praxis . You want the "Praxis ering 36t"

Did try an Ally one, but had to buy the nuts/bolts - whatever they're called to fit it. More fiddly, in my case, especially to get it off again.

My Ally one only lasted about 300k before it shark toothed, but I think that was mainly due to unfortunate timing with chain stretch and crap conditions.

Well it arrived pretty sharpish and took minutes to fit. I went for a quick ride and wasn't out pedalling as much on the flat, so pleased with result.

The only issue is with the chain guard, it isn't as adjustable as I thought. In its original position it doesn't fit, it can only be flipped 180 degrees, which is how I have had to install it.

Any idea's? I'm not too keen on how it is at the moment, but am really happy with the chain ring.

Looks good Zimmer, definitely something to consider, not sure about the cost though!

Mine is still the factory guide, but slightly modified by Berkshire Cycles when they fitted the 36 ring.

Yes it looks like they’ve cut out a section from the back plate to allow the bracket to be angled towards the front of the bike to sit higher up over the larger ring.

I am not sure what others have done but I completely removed my chain guide. With the narrow wide chain I have never really needed one on any of my other bikes. If anybody knows of something different on a Levo that requires I leave the chain guide on my bike I would like to hear about it....

Thanks to Levo Laland, I've sorted the chain guide, took about an hour and you can't tell its been modded.

I dremeled the rear part of the guide like in Levo Laland's post and it still didn't fit, then realised the slot hole had been drilled out to allow the piece to be turned.

A few minutes later, all fitted and working and looking as it should.

After a quick ride yesterday, it looks like the chain length is okay too, happy days.

Does anybody know what the Praxis Ering torque settings are for the threaded bolts that hold the chainring to the cranks? The directions that come with it have everything but that?

Here's my first attempt at turning the guide around. An M5 bolt fits through the standard slot at the back without modificationand an M5 washer fits in that outer hole perfectly. Use a "Stiffnut" on the outside and Bob's yer Uncle.
