Sat in the holiday cottage yesterday in Hawkshead Lake District the missus informed me she had an haircut booked. Took this opertunity to pinch her emtb, cube acid one, Hardtail. Headed off upto Grizedale and found an off road section. I've had a go on her bike only once before and never off road, was grinning like a Cheshire cat climbing the trials with ease the previous times I'd struggled on my non emtb. Had such a good time on the first downhill section and loved being able to just fly back up for another go. Did get a bit carried away on the second run and my obvious lack of skill became apparent when I hit a big rock after a turn. Thought I'd ridden over it pretty well until 5 seconds later flat tyre and school boy error I'd not taken the tubes from her bag with me dooh. Loved it so much pinched it again later that day and did a 12 miler over High Wray to Sawrey via Moss Eccles Tarn. Highly recommend that one, a great decent into Sawrey. First thing I'm doing when I get home is get myself an emtb. Giant trance e+2 or cube 160 race I think.
