MAGNIFICENT ?.....Keep them coming.
Great post sir looked like fun. I love venturing out of the track and often find myself having to hike the bike lol.Got some disappointing new shortly after my Greg's brekkie this morning..I'd just got going on the M6 again when Dave rang to say that himself & Jean wouldn't be coming as he had an upset tummy and was scooting for England ..a quick call to Jaco and he confirmed that he was on his way so at least I wasn't going to be Billy no mates and as we were both on ebikes at least the pace of the ride would be a bit quicker..
The first and last part of the ride were legal ..the bit in the middle toward Scales Tarn / Blencathra was not with a good bit of hike a bike on the way up the Glendermaraken Valley ..but a complete blast on the way back ( at least on the bits that hadn't eroded into the river..which had worsened quite a bit since I was last there in 2016)..
Jaco at Bowscale Tarn ..first destination of the day

Did I mention it was eroded in places ..a 3inch wide ledge with an early bath in the river if you slipped..

On the third part of the ride some wild horses ..very tame though and used to people ..

And finally ...
He couldn't be there in person as he was having his second jab ..but this pic should warm his cockles ..
Jaco ( nutter) decided his shoes needed a wash after losing both in a bog ..one for The EMF..

Stunning pics , as usual
Your going to have the flatearthers in a panic with that wide-angle view.A quick ride around the Darwen/Jubilee Tower loop with my wife. You're probably sick of seeing the 'rocket ship' at the top so took one near the top... Wide-angle view looking NW into Lancashire.

I took the steep route up to the Tower and did it in a oner, no foot down or anything, proud of myself. Pretty tough from 300-350m and rutted and rocky...

Yeah bloody pine needles. Here's me thinking I'd nailed it then a bit too much front brake on the needles (you can see just above the bottom of the battery cover). I was lucky enough to get tangled up in a few windfall branches on my slide down the hill. It was a long long way down if they weren't there.Worst. Parking. Ever.
I don't think that's the way you wear the helmet!!
Etoni wins the internet again!!
I used spraybike for the paintjob. Like a powder coat in a can. Cheap & easy but is chipping & rubbing off easy (kinda like the Trek paint anyway)
Well done ..always nice to see someone putting "something back" ..?“20.1mph”.
Important to remember when crossing this bridge.
Finally finished the bridge yesterday with the support of a helper, inspector and encourager.
This creek crossing was compromised with logging debris.Un-passable at times with severe flooding after heavy rains or snow melts.
Emtb was essential in transporting materials and tools almost 10km on a fairly active trail. The creek flows much better now and erosion to the trees and trail is almost eliminated. It looked like a construction zone for about a week until I transplanted some firns and shrubs.
