Out in the Forest trying out my new fork upgrade, was going to be only a quick ride but ended up going 26 miles

This is the fabled Fly Agaric; made famous in many fairy stories e.g Alice in WonderlandView attachment 40794
The trails in the UK pine forests are littered with this toadstool right now. Eventually they get broader and flatter before going brown and shrivelling up. Nothing ever seems to eat them. They look poisonous, anyone know what they are called?
I'll bet it's called DeathCap, RedShitter, OneStep, or something equally ominous!
(That probably wouldn't make any sense unless you've read a lot of old threads which often involved tassels ...)
enjoying a nice wee pootle

@Johneracer The distances on the sign look like a work of imagination!
That makes sense now. I was comparing the sign with where the pic was taken.that is where MASH series was filmed. That’s the sign from the show
Love the colour matched helmet and bike.
Insta360 one X + selfie stick, amazing little camera.Jet, how did you take this pic?
With a drone?
By 'his shovel,' I hope you meant that he has a real shovel? He was known as "Sergeant Short Handle" .. he always failed to secure his shovel to the back of the wagon properly. It would drop down and drag along wearing the handle shorter ...
By 'end of his rifle,' I hope you meant that he has a real rifle?I was just about to ask if anybody remembered the time he got put on a charge for putting purple tassels on the end of his rifle!
Wow looks like you had some fun ??View attachment 41745 ]
