Arizona landmarks just south of the Petrified Forest. Some pictures from my ride today... Mount Ord 7,128 feet tall (2,173 m), has a nice dirt road to the communication towers on top and 50 miles North East of Phoenix... Four Peaks is a giant landmark near town. The northernmost peak (left side) is named Brown's Peak and is the tallest of the four at 7,659 feet (2,334 m). There is also a road that passes just to the left of Brown's Peak with a parking area to a trail to hike around the peaks. It is only around 45 miles from Phoenix and also East North East of Phoenix. Weavers Needle 4,555 ft (1,388 m) in the Superstition Mountains 50 miles west of Phoenix. The Needle's shadow reportedly indicates the location of a rich vein of gold, (AKA The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine) and many treasure hunters have searched for it. |

Will be out tomorrow while the wife's away skiing in the Dolomites. My left ACL has finally said "enough" so had to 'bully' Mrs irie into going with friends without me for the first time. Now I have only two old pussies in the house to look after instead of three Times change, simple as.Last one before xmas (prob) - blowing 50mph on top which made for some interesting moments!
Was out today. 20 horrible miles. Thick mud. At one point was quite funny in the mud, was slowing me down a lot so changed down, increased assistance, and went even slower with the rear wheel spinning in the deep mud. Started laughing so finally gave up and walked a long stretchWill be out tomorrow while the wife's away skiing in the Dolomites. Went out today not raining but single track full of puddles. Filthy after a few miles and lower legs soaking and cold .Only did 9 miles and thought this is no fun so called it a day. I intended to use land rover tracks in these conditions but levo goes where it wants I reckon. Shortest day today so things can only get better. Tried out boot drier 20 minutes long enough. Like boiling a kettle though it eats the juice.
