Performance Line CX issues...

I bought a second hand 2022 Cube Reaction Pro a couple of months back and recently noticed an occasional vibration through the pedals, but put it down to the tyres (without being all that convinced). Now there is a noticeable 'coffee grinder' rattle coming from the area of the motor so now I can only assume the bearings are shot, despite the bike only covering 2,400ish miles. The bike is out of warranty so as far as I can see I have 2 options: take the bike to my LBS, fork out a wad of cash and ask them to send for and fit a replacement motor, or use the eBike Motor Centre for around half the price to repair my current motor. What have you guys done when faced with the same problem? And what would you all recommend? Am I jumping to conclusions with the sounds and vibrations coming from my motor? Thanks in advance

Is it possible to compare to another bike with the same motor - compare the noise and the amount of movement in the crank? If the bearings are shot the crankshaft should move up/down more than a new motor.
If it is bad bearings I'd go for the repair.

That ebike motor center is represented here on this site by that "Bearing Man" fellow, right? If I recall that motor center also adds some upgrades when they rebuild the Bosch motor...better seals and maybe a couple of other upgrades. I don't have the link to that discussion with him that popped up on this site. It sounds like they improve a couple of the weak spots on that specific Bosch motor, so if that's true, I'd lean toward them doing a rebuild rather than just get a new motor that still has those issues.

I really don’t understand why motor manufacturers are so reluctant to train local bike shops to service there motors.
Motors are like everything else that have bearings and seals on a bike, eventually if you ride in mud and wash you bike water will get in and the bearings fail, it’s not rocket science.
As you have a well known service centre in the UK just remove the motor and send it for a service, then you don’t need to worry anymore.
I have Bafang motors and service them myself, if you have the skills look on you tube and do it yoursel.

Mine failed at less miles than yours. It seized when left for a few days and made a grinding noise for the first 10 miles of a ride. I was surprised as I had the improved mud stop seal on from new and regularly removed it and re-greased it, also was careful with cleaning. Submerged it once fording some water and it was under for seconds, thought it would be fine, clearly that’s what killed it. Sent it to the ebike motor center and had a full bearing swap and new mud stop and inner seal (think it was about £250), 2 week turnaround at the time and it’s still like new 2 years on. Don’t wash at all around the crank area anymore, just brush off any crap.
