I can’t comment on those but have been using these for nearly a decade and are as good as any , easy to service , cheaper and made in the Uk

I ride Race Face Atlas Pedals. If the Aefects were more to my liking I wouldn't hesitate to get them. Race Face has a lifetime guarantee, and their customer service has always been willing to send new parts. They're a good company.

I looked at those when buying new pedals recently but ended up going for Race Face Atlas for a couple of reasons. The Aeffect Rs are a bit too big in my book, and the Atlas is a little more compact, a little thinner and has a concave platform which is something I always go for. i think both are a round the same price if you shop around.

I got my first pair in 2010 when I was offered a £100 voucher when I bought a bike. I needed some pedals so I bought the Vaults at £99.99. There is no way I would have spent that much on pedals back in 2010 without them being essentially free; my previous pair cost £5! (Some horrendous bear trap style things).

I was so impressed with them that when I bought a second bike in 2014, I bought some Vaults without hesitation. It just happened that for each set the best price was black with blue pins. So I now have two pedals that look the same. Initially there was the new pair and the old pair that were easily distinguishable, but as the years have passed, I can't tell them apart. It is now 2024 and one is 14 years old and one is 10 years old. I have fitted four and maybe five sets of bearings in total to them that cost about £9 each. I have no idea how many sets of bearings have been fitted to which pedals. The pedals just keep going! For the last five years I only have the one bike. So one set of pedals is on the bike, the other is in my bike box ready to go with a new set of bearings.

Tip: Remove the leading pin from each side of each pedal. That is the pin that will rake down your shin bone!
