Hi,

I had a Orbea rise 2021 M-Team, but bike was stolen recently.
I got a new stock Orbea Rise 2023 M10 from the insurance company with the larger 540Wh battery.

I upgraded to XT Di2, also installed the Orbea Carbon handlebar.
I used the free eMax app to make the changes from mechanical to electric shifting.

I also re-used the wheelset from my 2021 bike, and keep the Oquo as secong wheelset for muddy rides.

Cool......I have the same bike and did also the Di2 upgrade (with 11spd Linkglide)
I've raised the speed limit from 25 > 32 > 30, which suit me perfectly.

Your bike looks amazing....good work.

Did you try the AutoShift function ?
I've used it quite some time (give it a try) and fiddling with the settings - but I'm back to manual shifts.

The only time I use AutoShift, is when I ride with a chainsaw in 1 hand, and cannot shift gear (trail maintenance).

Hi aarfeldt,

Well I purchased the 12-speed XT Di2 derailleur, as my wheelset already had 12-speed cassette and the shimano microspline hub.

The 12-speed does not have Autoshift, but it does have Freeshift, so shifting while coasting.
Last weekend was my first ride with the XT Di2, manual shifting went very smoothly, but I need to 'explore' the freeshift in more detail.

I also upgraded to 34km/h max speed with eMax, because the default limit of 25km/h is not acceptable for me on cross country trails.

I'm currently doing the same upgrade to my 2023 Rise M10 and am concerned because I had to adjust the derailleur adjustment in the e-tube app all the way to -18 and that is barely enough. It's like either the derailleur is slightly too far to the right or the cassette is slightly too far to the left. Did you have any similar situation?

I did not use the e-Tube app for finetuning of the derailleur alignment, it was perfect from the initial installation

Thanks for the info. Perhaps it's a difference in the 11 speed freehub body I bought. I ended up putting a 1.5mm spacer under the freehub and it lines up well now, with some adjustment in etube still needed.

Do you happen to know if the DI2 will pair with a Garmin bike computer to see what gear you are riding in? I am thinking about a similar upgrade.

I have a Garmin Edge 1040, and the Di2 gear is not available as a data field yet, unfortunately.
Hopefully this will come in the near future

Hi Ron, I have an Orbea Rise M10 and want to install the xt di2 system. I don’t know much about it. Would you please tell me what parts I need. How is the di2 wired into the battery in the bike? Thanks.

@Cronkie I have some info for you. I did this on my 2023 M20 and found lots of great info in the Orbea Blue Paper that you can download from the Orbea website. You can look at the diagrams and compare those that apply to your bike with the ones for a bike that comes with Di2 to see the differences. I've attached screenshots of the diagrams that were useful to me, but if you have one of the newer/older bikes there may be some differences, so probably best to download the Blue Paper for your specific bike range.

I got the following parts:
Derailleur: RD-M8150-12
Shifter switch: SW-M8150-IR
Di2 junction box (goes inside stem): EW-JC304
Di2 cable (from shifter switch to junction box): EW-SD300 700mm
Di2 cable (from motor to derailleur): EW-SD300 900mm

I had it installed at an Orbea dealer, and they had to contact Shimano to enable activation of the derailleur.
