It could just be me, but this forum seems really quiet at present

I would have thought it’d be the opposite. We’re (Northern hemisphere) coming out of a long dark winter, just had the spring equinox, clocks change next weekend, sunshine across the UK. Trails are in prime condition, mtb’ers are queuing up at the trailheads with big cheesy grins, even the fair weather riders are starting to come out of hibernation, yet this forum seems a little stagnant. Have emtb’s been discussed to death and we’ve nothing left to say ?

I think you've answered your own question- everyone's out pedaling

I’d like to think so, but then wouldn’t many be on here mid-week asking who’s got stock of 12 speed chains and all that jazz ? I’m not that concerned, it just seems much quieter than usual

I took my rear mudguard off today, which is the traditional curtain raiser for the season & this weekend, we get to moan about the French bossing the DH again, what's the problem?

It’s nice to visit a forum were the focus is mainly on the interest of this sport. I’ve noticed a decline in topics or posts in the past month or more also. I have my own theory of why that could be but I don’t think things are being ‘discussed to death’ or the eMTB forum is stagnant. There’s always new bikes or parts coming to the market and that brings new discussions. Personally I ride, I fix, I buy. But this friggen news lately …jehsus. Oh, and the weather.

It got a lot quieter for me when I muted a few frequent flyers. They seemed to spend more time on here than riding, to be honest.

For me it's just a case of the new Bosch release was underwhelming (other than a bigger battery there's nothing there to want)
Even if I did want one getting a 2022 cube is looking like a 1+ year waiting list

I haven't found parts difficult to find with the exception of 29x2.6 tyres - had to order from europe
There's just not really much going on to talk about. Time to just get out and enjoy the weather :)

Seems to come in bursts I was thinking that myself recently.

Not a lot of new (physical) stuff being released around this time and well... focus these days is on Ukraine war (crimes).

Not much point in discussing new pedals and shit if nuclear missiles start flying.

Is it being so cheerful that keeps you going. George?

When not doom-scrolling, I had stent removed after week of pain from bladder stone removal surgery :- ). In my early 30s...
Optimism is just slowly coming back.

But on serious note, I am 30 minutes from border with Ukraine and we have so many children refugees here it stays on mind.
It's bizarre contrast, the weather is beautiful and I will be transitioning from ski-touring back to (e)-biking, my toddler is learning the charm of downhill, so all cheerful on my side.

It is difficult to look away. The other side of the world but the effects on all of us here are understandable and necessary. IMO more can be done.

Good man & good luck with gall stone. Good tenet for life: Don't worry about the stuff you can't control like for example, nuclear weapons, if something is out of your hands, worrying about it is a waste of valuable energy. (y)

And that is the most prudent observation of yet! To many "Posers" want to talk about their "Bike" and what they have modified. Getting out on a ride with no phones, computers, and endless "social media" influencers is its own reward. Hey the sun is out and the bike is ready, I'm going riding, see ya later!!

Facebook really killed forums, which is a real shame as they are much better to navigate to find info.

I am most likely going to start what I try to avoid,But here goes. What we should have/need is an EBike "Wiki" type forum that will break down the "Root cause and Effect" format/flow charts showing the drive, controller, display, battery, sensors (Brake&Shift&Speed), and their associated wiring harness color codes and line diagram schematics. Having been involved with this technology on an industrial level using "brushless" DC motor drives, and also as a "R/C" pilot using the "Brushless" "outrunner" can motors and oversized props, problems can easily be determined with correctly performed voltage checks. Knowing where and how to do this requires some knowledge or at least clear and precise directions to obtain these answers.
If everyone will get in the habit of "Not Connecting or Disconnecting" Any cable/connector/component with the "Battery plugged into the harness they will have a much better chance of things performing as expected.

Nice idea but would take a huge amount of time to put together, not to mention keeping it updated with all the different bikes, parts & electronics.
