Due to what I've been calling medical excitement, I haven't ridden since early July. But I could work on the bike. I:
But as I got close to the top of my climb, I noticed a rhythmic wheezing sound. It got quieter and eventually stopped when I did.
So the bike is quiet, but the old rider needs some work!
- replaced all the suspension bearings
- replaced all the wheel and freehub bearings
- did the 200 mile service on the fork shock (it has a coil spring)
- cleaned the brake pistons and changed the pads
- put fresh gritty stuff on the seat rails
- cleaned and adjusted the headset
- and of course, the regular chain and derailleur clean and lube
