Had a butcher it was ok i suppose it depends what you are doing. To be honest most tyres I've used have been spot on. Only crap one was a Swalbe John Watt ? Ebike specific not good in winter.

I've used them for last 2yrs but have now go a set of the michelin e wild enduro race, they feel more softer but after checking the shore ratio they are reading the same as the originals

Hi
I`m running stock Butcher tires on my 23 Kenevo. After 1200km rear is almost done. Side knobs are leaking milk, there is some lamination on the wall under side knobs and you can see strings going out on tire wall. I was running at low pressure of about 1,2bar at the rear. I run usualy at 1.8 bar at the rear. So I assume that low presure is mostly guilty for side knobs problem and side wall problem. I was happy with how this tire on roots, sand and dirt but not so happy on loose gravel and wet roots. Oh and one thing that I noticed, this tires have a LOT of rolling resistance. What is best replacement for it? I dont want maxis tires..

Every tire with good grip has tons of rolling resistance, there is no magic way around that :- ). Tires with better grip on "wet roots" will have even worse RR on top of no longer being very stable on dry dirt because of their tall widely spaced knobs.
There is no perfect tyre for every condition and if there was, Gravity-casing T9 Butcher would be already as close to it as possible. It's fairly soft tyre for rear hence the 1200KM life which is otherwise fairly solid regardless. You can try T7 version and have further worse grip on wet.
I wouldn't really care about rolling resistance on full-fat e-bike. I definitely don't on much much weaker SL Kenevo. What's the power for if not to run the best tyres possible :- )?

The wear pattern and the damage on the side walls look like your tires have been used at low pressures and you are using a lot of high torque from you motor. I personally thing that getting a thousand miles from a tire not to be bad. Yours look like they are still very usable with sealant and a few pounds higher pressures.

I agree about low pressure, this was because of tires leaking at knobs. Low pressure was run at the end of this milage.
Regarding motor I mostly use eco or trail, turbo not so much. I have road bike also and I like to put more effort in pedaling. I`m looking at elevation gain in this time. I made 21500m in 1200km with this tire. I will go to Kryptotal to see how Conti feels on the trails..

I’m due for some new tires and I’m not sure if to go with the Specialized combo or something else, I’m riding on hard pack with lots of loose small rocks, mainly on the bends of course, any suggestions? Price is important to me.
