i could not work out what the benefit was to be fair and your reply just cements that theory

I don’t know that’s why I’m asking. I’ve ridden a mtb with 1 on and was impressed but never ridden an emtb with 1 on.

What was the difference in feel ?

Suspension tracked the ground better,no pedal kickback. And the kid who owned the bike said after fitting it he would never ride a bike without 1 on now.

Expensive, not sure about the actual benefits for my riding style. Pedal kickback never bothered me much. Here is more info:

Just need to find 1 on a Bosch motor and ride it to see for myself. They’re a bit pricey to just buy and see.

There is an ebike specific Ochain - E version. Seems pretty pointless to me but each to their own. Trek rail gets minimal pedal kickback
