I've been a little bored during lockdown so thought I'd do some tinkering :)

Just waiting on a spring before I test ride and review.

added bits:
  • DVO Jade X coil shock - custom-tuned for Maestro/my weight
  • DVO Onyx 29er fork - custom-tuned
  • Custom Light bicycle Carbon wheels (added layers of carbon) with Hope Pro4 hubs
  • Magura MT7 brakes
  • Renthal Carbon bars 20mm rise
  • 11 speed Sram
  • 165mm cranks
  • Brand-X 170mm dropper
  • Ergon Enduro seat

Jeeperz thats quite a list , that would have cost a pretty penny!
Are you still running standard travel with the fork?
Do you like the aggressor tyre? is it a 2.5 DD?
Have you had it on the trail yate?

Running 160mm travel, feels about right to me

The Aggressor has been great so far in the dry, yet to test it in the wet. Yes, DD casing, anything less starts to squirm through the corners.

I had 3 rides so far and loving the setup! the bike feels fast and the front feels lighter. It takes alot less effort to manual but doesnt climb quite as nice as the original setup but that's no bother to me :)

Wow! Great looking bike! If you weren’t upgrading you may have been out shopping for another bike, so the upgrades can save you some $$$. How are the magura’s?

I want to hear your feedback on going mullet. Did you measure your bottom bracket clearance? I'm currently around 257mm and I'm going to assume it'll be close to 10mm higher when I bump up from 160 to 170 (which is about the same when you change wheel sizes). I wonder how that will affect handling?

Hi pals! I don't want to start another topic so decided to put a bit "my garbage" in this. I decided also to convert my Trance E+ 2 Pro 2019 to mullet... all upgrades below:
1. Front fork FOX 36 Performance 29/27+ 160mm travel
2. Rear shock Fox DPX2 Performance 185x55mm
3. Mullet wheelset custom made on DT 350 Hybrid hubs (microspline), rear H612 35mm 27,5" and front H552 30mm 29"
4. New rotors RT86 203mm and next week SLX 7120 4piston brakes.
5. New 625Wh battery
6. Drivetrain is 12spd SLX M7100 derallieur and Deore M6100 cassette.

Fox 38 Factory mmm yummy & beefy & gipsy gold ;) ... looks like 180mm so Your HA is even more slack than in my.
My target was to upgrade bike (tech & look) and stay visualy as much as possible to factory MY19" E+ 2Pro... and that's IMHO I've achieved.
And about mullet, how do You feel ... slacker, longer... should be much more confident going on downhills.

The detail on yours looks freaking amazing! Loving the blue on the fork and rims!
I sacraficed a few mm of reach with my fork but I wouldn’t change it for anything!

I am considering going mullet on my 20 Trance E+2, the LBS where I bought the bike doesn’t recommend it, says it changes geometry too much… so no help available there ?
My objectives for doing this are: higher BB, easier roll over roots and rocks, a bit slacker front and riding position.
Is it worth it?
Thanks

That’s a very nice upgrade list, How are the DVO forks?
I mulleted my Vitus with a manitou Mezzer

Check this thread out from 2019, specifically from Wernher. He laid out some great feedback on why to get a 29er fork. His feedback along with the Dutchman’s sweet pics is the reason why I changed mine. Only downside was that the reach on the Trance (mine is a 2019) was short to begin with and I absolutely murdered the reach by getting a huge fork. Being tall this is the only downside but whatever. ?no regrets!

Love um!

Having loads of adjustability requires some trial and error to get 100% right but the result is worth it. I did get the CSU replaced under warrantee because was starting to creak was replaced no questions asked with an beefier updated version. The light and fluffy of the initial stroke takes getting used too - dialed the OTT right back which gives me more support in the initial/mid stroke.
