Noob with a Haibike and internal software problem

Thanks for checking out my post. So, my Haibike with the Bosch gen 2 motor has an internal software error, error code 500, the bike shop says its terminal and needs a new motor. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

I've seen this code mentioned in a few forums. There is a thread on it in this forum here:

Looks like either a good old "off, battery out, clean points, restart" will sort it, or it really is dead. Needs the Bosch diagnosis tool to confirm though.

My local dealer says that it's terminal.
