No power level remote on the handle bar.

Hey team,

Who doesn't have a handle bar remote on their e-bike.

I'm struggling to see the need of having it on the bar?
I typically turn the bike on. Set the desired level and ride, Then turn off at the end.
Job Done.

Maybe a couple of times a ride I might change mode. Typically not. But no where near enough to need finger tip adjustment on the fly.

For that matter I don't care about speed or distance. So I don't want a display either.

Most of my rides are around 50-70km with elevation between 800-1600m so I need to change modes on descent or sometimes even switch the bike off on some descents to conserve battery.

Personal preference and all, but I'm often changing mode even on shorter rides depending on the gradient, conditions etc

I started running my Reign without it and like it. Less wires and you can still change modes on the tube. You do loose walk assist but still have all the rest.

I find myself using pedal pressure and gears to do that and I can still control its modes from the top tube. I do see how you are using yours

Along that line does any know if they make blanks that go in the holes for the wiring& cabling one for the left that only has one hole and one for the right that has none? The only thing I on my handlebars that needs to run threw my frame is my rear brake line.

I don't think that one will fit the 2022 Reign as there is a screw that attaches them as opposed to the older press in style.

I do a fair bit of steep hike a bike. So I may need to keep the remote controller for walk assist. Grrrrr!

I'm not sure about full on wireless brakes but, they could intergrade the rear brake right into the handlebars and just do the front .

Ok, the gear cables and dropper cable is going to get you into a flat spin.

But in loving my integrated handlebar stem combo....

I use my mode shifter all the time, wouldn't be without it. One use I discovered on my own that is unique to e-bikes is when climbing and an unexpected steep bit arises. I have a dilemma. I always back off the power to change gears, but if I did that on a steep climb then I'd lose momentum. If I didn't back off, I'd crunch the gears at best, break something at worst. The solution is to shift to a higher mode to allow a momentary surge forward which allows me to safely and easily shift to an easier gear. Once I've done that I drop back a mode and carry on. Simples!

That works for you and is excellent for riders that ride that way but for me I find it not to beneficial especially because I'm in turbo almost all the time. Using your power modes like that effectively increases what you have for gears I use to use mine that way on my other bike. It Is a useful tool I don't really use the technic anymore.
