No pop when mounting tyres

Just got some Maxxis Rekon 29x2.6's for my hardtail, thought I'd try something a bit faster rolling as it never gets used 'properly' off-road. The max inflation pressure is 40 PSI. When mounting them they appear to be seated, but don't 'pop' like every other tyre I've ever used. Do I just accept they are seated, inflate them past 40 PSI and see what happens or what?

Have a look at the bead and see if they are sat right all the way around. Give them a bang on the ground sideways and see if they move.

Some pop and some just ease on. If the line on the tyre is an even distance from the rim all way round then you're good.

They are definitely seated, nice even bead, stay on the bead if I let the air out, just never had a tyre that didn't pop

The pops are in the plastic bag! Enough for both sides 👍
Don't get them mixed up with the spot welds though or they will never seal 🤔

Had gravel tyres not pop in the past and they lost pressure over a couple of days, removed them ran a strip of electrical tape round the rims and refitted the tyres, next time a definite pop and they held pressure great after that.
