Hello all. Just got on board - intro in newbie section. Have a question already, and apologies if I don't get the jargon right. I have a MY20 Turbo Levo. Is it possible to change the point at which the motor stops delivering torque to the chain? I see that after I stop applying pedal pressure the chain is still being driven for a second or so, the motor whines and the chain advances. I’d like to have the chain stop closer to when I stop pedaling. Possible? thanks - Mike.

Per Specialized info the motor should stop in about 200ms (1/5 of second) after you stop applying pressure to the pedal ... but in my experience this sometimes takes a little longer, up to about 1 sec, especially in TURBO mode and this can be very dangerous in some circumstances ... Maybe future firmware updates will address this issue ...

Thanks for the response. Yes, it seems to take longer on my bike. Seems like it should be an easy software adjustment...

I think the deceleration lag at higher power levels could be the ramp down that is the more comfortable rate in Turbo & Trail avoiding a sudden perceptible jolt that would be felt from 800W at the wheel to 0W.

I think it also works on technical trails in avoiding pedal strikes I.e a partial rotation on the cranks to the horizontal position gives you both momentum and clearance. I could be wrong.

The best option is to use Eco range power levels and/or you could try reducing the current a bit by lowering Peak Power and see what effect that has for you on your bike.

Ok great, I’m going to try this. Huge amount of knowledge on this forum. Appreciate it..

Just read the thread, thanks. Very interesting. My bike (MY20 Levo SW) def does not cut out at 200ms, it’s way longer, around a second or more, also in eco and trail modes. Can I adapt? Sure, but don’t think that’s the issue; as I see it the idea here is to have pedal assist and not pedal replace.
