Sick of being at the back of a bunch of my Thursday night riders group and trying to keep up with all of the ebikes, I finally took the plunge.

Amazing looking bike, hope it lives up to all the hype and reviews. Have some great trails here to test the bike out!!

Welcome. I live in St Helens so tracks here and Derby just down the road. Have to say I love Railton as well.
Wow good place to live in the winter too! Its mainly Mt Wellington and foothills, Meeghan Range and of course Maydena up the road here. Still you are only 3hrs up the road via one of my most fav roads trips; the "Great Eastern Drive"

St Helens tracks look like the perfect winter tracks - unaffected by water. Lucky you :). It would be my choice to live there - Derby through the drier months, local tracks through the wet months; lots of light through Winter. Everything you need without being too busy.

I might have met your group once, by the reservoir (big water tank) on top of Pilcher's hill. I was walking with my dog - everyone was making fun of him 😂. I ride with him now mostly around Geilston creek, Pilcher's hill, Shag bay.

So you ride with lights? I just bought a magicshine mj906s - haven't hooked it up yet.

Sorry to revive this old thread. I’ve got a Rise M10 up here in Brisbane but am visiting Hobart in early January. These bikes are a pain to travel with due to the battery but I was still hoping to get a ride in to try out Mt Wellington.

I know there are emtb rental options but they’re all full fat ebikes or Levo SL. Once you’re used to that EP8-RS sweet spot it’s hard to like anything else.

This may be a long shot but if any Of you guys know anyone with a M/L Rise or similar I’d be happy to pay bike shop rates to borrow it for a day. Or even better, maybe you’re heading up to SE QLD sometime and we can swap.

My bike shop, Cyclingo, say there are now more than a handful in Hobart, mostly Alum frames.

Missed this sorry, yes I could have seen you near the reservoir on Pilchers, we ride as a group on Thurs nights. After daylight savings ends it meant using lights. I have used 2xMagicshines for more than 10 years. This year last month, all my riding groups are now retired so we start earlier and no lights! We ride all around Hobart from Sandford, Lauderdale, Meeghan, West and South Hobart on Kunanyi, Geilston Bay area, Conningham, Glenorchy park plus north south.

Any time from 3-5 Jan.
I have ridden a lot of ebikes and a Specialised Levo SL in boost would be just as good as a Rise on Trail setting on Kunanyi. I wouldn't rent my bike, too much hassle with insurance. Those dates don't work for me anyway sorry.
