Hi folks

Recently joined the Forum. I've been a long-term cyclist for 32 years, both road and hardtail mountain bikes. Got into e-bikes around 5 years ago or so, since I ain't as fit as I used to be, a young 55-year-old riding hardtail e-bikes. Currently have 3 e-bikes, which I'm getting rid of to fund my full suspension e-bike in the future.

I've never ridden or cycled on a full suspension e-bike as of yet, decided to buy a Vitus E-Mythique but sadly item never turned up with the problems with the retailer. So any suggestion on a good full-suspension e-bike for an old dude like me will be welcoming.

Thanks. :)

A couple of videos for you to watch for starters.

There’s so many great bikes to choose from. Probably best to be firm on your budget, then allow another £500 to £1000 just to be safe. There’s so many great riding spots in Scotland you’ll be absolutely loving life when your new bike finally arrives.

Thank you. Yes, we are really spoiled for choice when it comes to so many makes and models available. In many ways, I wish there would have been newer models of Haibike with the HPR 120 TQ motor as I currently have the motor in my Adventr 5.0. I feel the newer HPR 50 motor has lower torque and less battery capacity. So it looks like I will have to go with either a Bosch or Brose system.

And yeah, I have great riding spots here, spoiled for choice :)

Thanks for the video links, appreciated it.

Some of the bikes in Sam’s videos aren’t available in the UK, but those vids are a good place to start.

There’s tonnes of info on this forum, and you’ll find loads of horror stories too. Just remember that for every one person that takes to the internet to vent their frustration with their expensive new toy, they’ll be another ten owners with no issues at all, happily riding the trails and having no interest in writing on forums to express their joy.

If you’ve been riding for 30+ years your skills will quickly progress out on the trails so buy a bike that will suit your abilities in a years time and not what you think will be suitable for now 👍🏽

Yes, I have been looking around the forum today, picking up on folks thoughts about their e-bikes and surprisingly the amount of knowledge many folks are seasoned riders with helpful insights.

Noted on the e-bike that will do me in a years time, I guess in time I will find the right fit for me. I was also going to see if there is anywhere local to try out a full suspension enduro before I part with my cash, just to make sure going down the enduro route will be for me.

Again, thanks for your input.

If you live within the Central Belt then you could go to Glentress and hire a full suss for the day to give you a taster
