I have been using my Trek Powerfly 7 FS 2019 happily since last autumn. That is my first e-mountainbike and I am loving it. This is a perfect place to ride the bike especially near Woodbury and Haldon forest area.
Komoot app also recommended a lot of nice routes to try.
I also came here with a question about my bike motor's (Bosch Performance CX Gen2) bearing noise problem which started to occur recently. I have already found a really good company to repair the intricate parts (performancelinebearings.com here as: Bearing Man), but i want to try Partridge Cycles near Exeter first to quote the problem as they are much closer to me. They are Bosch certificated as well. Anyone has a service experience with the company?
My other question would be if anyone have experience with removing the outer plastic casing of the motor from the driven side. Bearing Man was really helpful and recommended to do that to reduce the mud building up. In this case are you loosing the chainguard, or its not part of the plastic? - I mean the small bit that sticks out to reduce the chain's vertical movement not the circular guide around the front sprocket (which i want to keep as well).
As an additional protection I also want to install the MudStop and the Crankshaft seal to protect the motor.
If removing the motor cover do i need to order any parts to keep any hanging cables fixed or its pretty safe?
