It wont be fun but it will be nostalgic and make you appreciate your EMTB if and when complacency kicks in. I reckon its a good idea to keep the old pedal bike, it might keep you honest (y)

I sold my YT Capra CF Comp to help fund the purchase of the emtb. But I kept the Whyte T130C RS because I loved it.

As the months ticked by and I had not ridden the Whyte, I thought about selling it. So I went for a ride around my favourite trail and it was a nightmare! All my knee problems came back and I had to finish the ride early. So I sold the bike.

I have regretted it ever since!

Two and a half years later that bike would be perfect for my grandson's 14th birthday coming up later this year. It would cost thousands to replace it. So he's going to have to make do with what he's got for now!

And I didn't actually need the measly sum of money that I got for it. :(

I know that you will get top dollar for your bike right now, but if you love the Mojo, then consider long and hard before selling it.

I've given my 2017 Whyte T130rs to my son ..just spent a fortune replacing parts which I had worn out ..having had to wait ages for certain parts to come in to stock ..gave it a very short ride and knew straight away that I would probably never ride it again ..it just felt like a complete lump of wood !
Never mind about " keeping honest " ...its just not as much fun ..
Your choice of course but I would sell it and use the funds on that exotic mtb holiday you know you've always wanted ?

My riding is 90% eMTB lately but I'm planning to hang on to acoustic rides indefinitely: riding with non-assist friends, lift days, trails where eMTB is strictly prohibited, eMTB down for maintenance, checking in on fitness, just for the heck of it, etc.

In Chino Hills, they're writing expensive tickets for assist riders, and in Orange County, land managers are posting signs that clearly and explicitly prohibit all forms of e-bikes. Folks in those areas who ditch their acoustic bikes are going to be hurting.

Got my first emtb in February. Ordered an acoustic bike last week. I have 2 friends (for now) with emtbs, one thinks I’ll never ride it ?
I generally get out 2-3 times midweek on my own on my eBike. So many of my friends and neighbours ride regular bikes I’ve ordered one so I can go on social rides with them.

Are you saying that they wouldn't allow you to ride with them otherwise?
Or are you just embarrassed to do so ?
It's perfectly possible to ride with friends who ride mtb's..I do it all the time ..do I feel guilty ? Not a bit .
I actually feel sorry that they haven't made the change and after 20 odd years of riding together they are no longer having the same amount of fun on a bike as I am ..but go ahead its your money.. ( and I'm in the same camp as one of your mates who thinks you will never ride it / quickly become bored with it ..and I don't even know you.. ?)
