I'm always amused by people who expect seamless and perfect results in a non perfect world....its just not realistic. If we expect imperfection then we aren't annoyed when it invariably happens, similarly if we do get perfection then we can be pleasantly surprised.....
0 issues with my bike in 1200 miles.
It's not unrealistic

i went out with 3 bars , made it back after 12 miles, 1300ft of climbing . what a great night, bbq after as always. this is my first 29r , and it rolls like a freight train. we have some tight technical trails, and i handled it all. i'll get more used to it and it will be top notch. still working on set up , but it's close.

You might be the except and not the rule however.
Sure there are bikes that just work out of the box. Also there is a vast difference in service life from someone tootling to someone else regularly drenching their bike in mud/grime/ moisture combined with continuous and hard use. Most of the E guys i know have had one issue another to work through. The we are pushing the limits of environment and use case.

Either way, its a mind set thing. Mentally prepare for some downtime, then you don't get disappointed when it happens. If you have zero issues... when then you can be extra stoked.

My experience with Santa Cruz and customer service is nothing short of amazing. I would be extremely surprised if they didn't help you and take care of your issues. Hope it's fixed quickly.

Glad to hear your bike is working out well for you. Getting her dialed in perfectly is half the fun!

"head" mechanic told my buddy he needed sprague clutches in his motor. he was positive. he orders them , backorder. i fix the bike, he asks to cancel the backordered bearings they told him he needed, no can do. so he will have to go buy 200.00 worth of bearings he doesn't need because they said so. this was last week.
Thats illogical, if item is b/o the shop can cancel. Just don't pay for it, if you already have paid by card then contact your card company, dispute charge… I’ve been there with similar situation. Since original “diagnosis” from shop was wrong your case is even stronger.

so i am at 5 bars once again. the shop , ebikes508 , has been stellar. he sent me a new charger last week , was lost in shipment. i had time saturday , so i made the drive to see them. met Ronnie who i have dealt with, awesome dude. he had another charger there and it started charging. he offered to let it sit till he closed but i wanted to get home. had to detour on the way home, got home and lost charger was on my sidewalk. at least by driving i knew it was the charger. now on to riding wed night. we have a big crowd coming and a clam bake as well. gonna be a good night! appreciate the encouraging comments
