I have to wait for a refund before I can order a new one, so gives me time to decide what to do

Im just not keen on cutting the grommet away from the current cover to fit the Protect EMTB model

Thanks for the update.
With the Protect MTB I assume you need to cut it away so it fits flush, the grommet is removable from what saw and I guessed it was there to stop crap getting in the hex socket.
Does the Protect cover the hex bolt?
Apologies if I've misunderstood

The protect fits using the same bolt hole, they provide a longer bolt for the job.

Ideally I need to see it on a bike an dnot just in the images they provide

I have a Protect one on my Levo SL so I know they are good quality

Ive just fitted some padded tape to the underside of the motor, just above where the battery cover ends. Should protect it from rock strikes until I get a refund for the Rockstop and decide if I'm getting a different one

Meant ask what size Race Face crank boots did you buy?
Trying to get a definitive answer on small or medium for the aeffect cranks has been difficult.
I have them on my YT and they do a great job

Mine is on order now; very much n+1 for me as I will still be riding my Capra with my mate most weeks.
Looking forward to riding longer and higher though; so many trails I can't do these days.

I fancy changing my remote to the Purion 200 display

For your guard do you also protect the battery cover as that’s what I want to protect as well if I get one

Per my home made guard , no just the bottom bracket area , it sits under the rubber guard on the downtube, i just have that wrapped using helicopter tape.

Kydex is quite moldeable , i made a cardboard template first , then cut the sheet to size approx.

I used a heat gun on low setting to warm it up , then mould , heat a bit more , mould until happy then final trim and sand the edges smooth. You could cut slits in it and thread velco staps or you use a soft rivet to attach a strap , / buckle etc.

bash guard has finally arrived and been fitted, the motor and battery cover are now fully protected

Fits very nicely too

Just ordered the final piece (for now) for the cockpit

A Unite Renegade stem in Black with Orange splatters on it, will match the black and orange theme nicely

Heard really good things about these stems too

Mine rocked up just before I went on a ride yesterday so have been messing around with it this afternoon fitting pedals etc (thanks for the tip on medium race face boots)
Obviously the suspension needs fine tuning but took it on a short spin around a couple local lanes to bed in the brakes ( I rarely do this 😏). Given an EMTB is new to me that short spin was eye-opening.
Will hopefully get it over the moor midweek for a proper outing so I can a better feel for it.

I'm inspired to mould a Kydex protection piece, I like that Protect guard but may go the other way at first.
I will need to be whipping the battery out for travel most likely buy I assume it's still the single bolt when taking the cover off
Big one for me is saddle; will see how my backside copes with the longer rides with this before changing though.
Always remember when I bought my old Trek Remedy; before you knew it new bars, stem, tyres, saddle were swapped. For a while now stock finishing kit has been much better, my Capra is stock apart from the saddle, winter tyres and the usual bits that wear.
Other than that slapping some MudHugger guards on.
I just need to get out and get it dirty; I will still be riding my Capra with my mate a lot of the time though.
