Hi, assembled my new Spectral yesterday(Shimano e8000) and took it for a brief ride around the streets. Started off without the motor just to see what it was like ,and all was good. Turned motor on and there is a loud squeek when it's under load .
I Pedalled it to above the 15mph motor cut off point and the squeek stopped which proved to me that it was definitely coming from the motor. Tried it a few times with the same result.
Has anyone else had this squeek?
Maybe it is just new and tight and it will wear off?
Spoke to Canyon on line chat who were helpful and said they could collect it and have a look, or I could return it for a refund.
Not sure what to do? Thoughts.

With my experience with Canyon customer service, you've won a watch there, get them to collect the bike, take your money and run!

I had a Spectral:ON, great bike but Canyon are terrible to deal with, I also know a couple of folk who have had new motors and frames replaced so far as there is an issue with the frames, think from memory it is in the pivot area.
Shame really as I said, bike was great but not sure on long term reliability or support.

This is a bit of a long shot but try pushing your bike backwards with the motor switched on. My Spectral made a strange chirpy noise on its first ride and pushing it backwards sorted it. It was as though there was some packing or similar catching in the motor.

Don't let Lucky Mullen's post concern you too much, my Spectral On 6 has been absolutely brilliant, much better than my Focus, and it 'only' cost £3,000.

Will try that tomorrow thanks. I am going to take it for another little spin on the road as well just in case it sorts itself out.
