New bike advice

Hello y'all

I've been thinking about a new bike, i currently own the vitus e-sommet vr 2019 in size S, and i like the bike.
And i have been oogling new bikes, while i still might get something back from selling my current one.
So far i have mostly tried to look for value, and stock availability in my size.

Nukeproof Megawatt 297 Elite 2022​

this one looks gorgeous in yellow, and is available in size S with a 20% discount. landing about (5700/4600 dollars/pound)
mullet (27,5, 29.0)
Shimano EP8, 630WH
170/160 mm travel

Stereo Hybrid 140 HPC TM 750WH​

okay colour scheme
(6300/5077 dollars/pound)
available in size S with 27,5 wheels
bosch gen 4 cx smart, 750WH
150/140 mm travel

Obviously there is travel and geo differences, but either seems fine to me.
LBS is not an options, but there are well respected online stores.
Opinions?

Stay away from Shimano motors. They are not serviceable, and if the motor fails you're buying a new one.

Friend's ep8 died outside warranty with 500 miles on it. Torque sensor problem again. Is currently having to pay for a new motor. Terrible.

Have a look at the new Canyon Strive:ON CFR.

The Underdog is similar price to the Cube and probably a better bike.

5,4 (163cm) I def had my eyes on it and was super excited to buy it, but after calming down and look at the numbers it just seems to big?

also a minimum a month away before arrival.

Have a look at a Whyte maybe? An E-160S or E-160RS?

The issue with Shimano isn't the warranty, it's the time it takes to get a replacement motor, some people are waiting months.

The whyte's are sadly not available at all, no seller what i can see (sweden)

Ah, i thought thing were shaping for the better this year with regards to that.

Cube.
Level of kit is very good. I normally go with Fork-shock-brakes-wheels, and the cube is very good in all 4.
Perhaps the fork could have a better damper, but I've the same fork and been happy enough with it.

yes, thats really a shame, that bike looked great, and would have been a no brainer.

You won't be disappointed with the cube at all, decent spec, larger capacity battery and the Bosch gen 4 motor!

Thanks for the discussions, i can confirm now that i went with the...... canyon

I found an italian reviewer (thank god youtube autotranslate) which was 1.68m if it translated correctly that was on size M and enjoyed it, and could have gone smaller on some occassions, i also checked the seattube lenght which was 395 vs my 380 on the vitus, this is acceptable to me.

So i took the plunge on the S size, and now the wait begins, good time to start looking for things to freshen up on the vitus and try to get a sale.

Same as in the UK too.
But how do you buy a brand-new bike and only do 500 miles in two years?

They are clearing out stock of them, even the whyte website has 25% discounts.

I guess they have new models out in the next month or two , might end up being even worst specs than a 2023 model given inflation
