So with 750Wh battery's becoming commonplace, Shimano's 630Wh power pack is looking a bit outdated. Does anyone out there have any news on when Shimano will be putting a bigger capacity battery out to market?

More focused on battery capacities for the riding I do than on having the latest, greatest most expensive new shiny bit possible...
I agree, people craving 750wh batteries and above simply want to flip their motor into turbo and fly around their local trails, battery management isn't something they care about, I have a Yeti 160e with a Shimano 635wh battery, I can achieve 45 miles riding on Eco and Trail without issue, it's how and what you ride and how you manage your battery that matters, having the perceived latest and greatest isn't always the best option.

Each individuals perception of fun will always differ, if I'm doing bikepark laps I'll take my analogue bike, full days in the Lakes, Yorkshire Moors/ Dale's and Scotland I'll use the e-bike.

I ride a lot of rocky rooty trails and the higher settings make that a lot easier. I'm seriously thinking of selling my shimano 630 battery equipped bike, just so I can get more miles. If I thought I could upgrade to a bigger battery or get a range extender. I would just keep the bike.

I disagree,i have a 750 battery, and i need it as my rides are normally 35-45 miles and iam good at battery management, mostly in tour mode, considering the trails i ride in wales,i normally only come back with 10% left,we dont all whizz around in turbo mode, some of us stay out as long as possible, and not just a couple of hours.

Totally agree and thats my point. Bigger battery, more miles, more fun! Shimano seem to be falling behind with offering a 630 battery as their maximum size with most other brands going with 750. Hence my original question as to whether anyone out there in ebike-land knows if Shimano will be offering us something bigger / more long range in the near future?

I was happy with my last bike, until all my homies got bikes with bigger batteries and I ended up the guy at the back of the pack struggling and stressing out. Then I got a newer bike with a bigger battery, and the balance of power has been restored. Battery size is nearly as important as suspension, tires, and geometry.

Lets hope so,they need to be aligned with other makes, brands etc in regard to higher wh batteries
personally,i wouldnt look at purchasing a bike with a 630 battery as i like doing the miles, and sometimes a 750 is not enough,i have in the past had to cut rides short due to lack of range left in my battery,i did borrow a friends bike with a 750 wh and a 250 powermore attached,1000wh!
i was out all day, loved it!

If nothing else, I’d like to see Shimano officially offer a range extender that’s compatible with the current lineup of EP801 and EP6 motors and 500wh/630wh batteries.

My 900w on my canyon spectral cf8 on. Has been semi ok. Bike hates getting washed and will often shut down coasting. There is a recall on all of these for the case cracking. But im doing about 400 miles a month, and getting trophies and kom on strava almost daily. I can get 30 miles in the winter and climb 4000' every ride but only in trail mode. In summer boost mode all day for same results. The bike is a beast and handles well. Upgraded to CF bar, and 220 rotors for all the drop in elevation im doing.

Ill be happy when the second battery gets here, and I can swap batteries and run out 1800w in a day. Took me a year to get healthy enough to not be wiped out after 30 miles of rutty and rocky single track. Some days are just recovery rides, others trophies and PRs and KOM. Some days endurance runs, and some days just fun rides.
