Need help picking up a DT Swiss rear wheel

Hey guys, need your help picking a wheel that compatible with the gear I have on my bike.

I have a 2020 Levo Comp and I'm moving some component from my Spectral:ON to the Levo, including the XTR groupset. One component I can't move is the rear wheel, as the Spectral runs a 27.5" wheel in the rear.

So I'm looking for a rear wheel to pair with the front DT Swiss HX 1501 for the rear too.

Looking at one site I get a bit confused because I find wheels that mention Shimano up to 11 speed (not 12). Anyone familiar with this that could help?

I'm thinking this would do it, but I'm worried because it says Shimano 9/10/11 but not 12. Any ideas?

It will come with those free hubs in the box, just use your 12 speed free hub from your 27.5 wheel. Then you will be good to go.

Oh, I'm such a noob, I didn't knew they where interchangeable. That solves my problem!

12 speed shimano requires a micro spline feeehub.
either buy a new wheel with the same hub as your Spectral and switch freehub bodies over (easiest option)
or
Buy any suitable 29" boost rear wheel with a microspline freehub (then your spectral will either need a new freehub body or you'll have to run 12spd shimano cassette on it.

just use your 12 speed free hub from your 27.5 wheel. Then you will be good to go.

He hasn't mentioned what rear wheel the Spectral has.
The freehub from his spectral will only fit a hub from the same manufacturer, and even then it's likely to have to be the exact same model of hub. (DT for example make lots of different hubs)

I ask as I'd absolutely never recommend a 28h rear 29er wheel to anyone who rides even vaguely agressively or would be considered anything other than lightweight. Plenty 29" wheel enduro bikes come spec'd with 28 spoke wheels but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Being honest with yourself, if you're going to be hard on your rear wheel at all look for something with 32 spokes as like for like it'll be stiffer/stronger and stay true longer than the 28h alternative.
28h or less mtb wheels only exist to save weight. and 28h generally only saves around 30g per wheel versus 32h.

The spectral has a DT Swiss HX 1501 too, the only difference (as far as I can tell) is that on the rear the spectral runs a 27.5" and I need a 29" for the Levo.

Because the plan is also swap the transmission (XTR to Levo and SRAM to Spectral), one option would be to buy a 29" with a SRAM hub and then swap hubs between the two wheels.

I know, this is a lot. But the bike is looking sweet

Oh, I had no idea that this wheel would have different counts of spokes... Guess another variable to consider. Need to check what I have on the spectral. I'm about 75kg, and I'd say I ride it fairly aggressive but not too crazy, No huge jumps or anything like that.

I'd say whatever I have on the canyon has been working for the use I give it, as so far I have had no issues. Thanks again for your help Gary.
