Hi guys, just wondered if anyone has tried the SICOMTB guards yet? I've ordered a set for my E160 but currently neither have arrived (bike tomorrow 23/2) or Guards (not dispatched last I checked)

They seem decent and cover the pivot bearings really well, if noone has tried them I'll let you all know how I get on with them probably next week at worst or over the weekend at best haha

Im sure they will work but at what cost?? The same set up rear mudguard can be achieved with a Mudhugger FRX ( front mudguard) mounted on the seatstays and a slightly modified, cheap as you like, Enduro type front mudguard mounted on the chainstays.

Hey Croxy, yes I have one on my 150rs, great fit with plenty of clearance, had one of the cheaper mudhugger fronts fitted on the rear before, but this kept clogging with mud on really muddy rides to the point where the wheel wouldn’t rotate and I had to cut it off and shove in camelbak ! Since getting the SICOM one, although it’s been close, it’s never clogged yet and dies a better job of protecting the bottom linkage, worth the money in my opinion

Finally someone who has one, I've searched and searched but can't find a single other person using them. Glad to hear such a positive review as I've gotta admit when I was ordering I thought this is knocking on a bit for some bits of plastic but if they're that good I'm glad I did. I didn't want to go down the route of bodging to get the same coverage on the rear. Cheers for getting back bud

I've seen this but by the time you are into 3 mudhuggers and faffed around getting it set up right it seems a false economy when you can get something that looks a bit more factory spec for barely a tenner more. As for those Enduro type ones I was trying to avoid quite so many cable ties on my new bike as they wore the paint down on my old Radon

??? FRX £20........Cheapo enduro £3 ( halfords)......proper Enduro for the front £9 .......front and back done for £32. (Mudhuggers come with frame protector strips for the zip ties)

For messy days I fit a large rear mudhugger over the top of the existing rear mudguard set up with re-useable zip ties. The same large rear mudhugger is removed when not needed and swopped between whatever bike I am using..........and left in the shed during the summer.

Yeah I thought you needed 3 of the MudHugger ones? 2 for rear for best coverage and say one for front, still circa £60 that way.

just the FRX on the rear plus the cheapo enduro provides the same coverage as the SICOMTB. The lower piece ( enduro) is more likely to get damaged after a while in conditions where mud with stones accumulates between it and the tyre. As with all mudguards once the inner surface gets badly scarred, mud just tends to stick and not clear......... so cheap to change.

Fitted the rear one recently to my 150 RS and am very pleased with it, the fit is really good and as others have mentioned no clogging on muddy rides. Can also recommend the mudhugger front that bolts directly to the fork arch.
