Mondraker Neat Size

Am exactly the same height and had exactly the same problem when changing from M/L Trek Fuel EX which was the perfect size, to Trek Rail 5, and had to choose either Medium or Large. I have a large 'wingspan' so went with the Large but had to mess around with handlebar reach and rise, and stem length to get comfortable. Wife is 170cm and has a Trek Rail 5 Medium which is just right for her, but too small for me. If there was a M/L Rail 5 I would have bought it for sure.
Im 180cm on a M Crafty. I could be on an L but chose to be "compact" rather than "stretched out".
I have replaced the 30mm stem with a 35mm and have no regrets with my choices.
I would suggest an M for your height. An M Mondraker has the same 470mm reach as an L Trek , as a reference to irie's post.

I am the same height and L was a perfect for me, although for a F-Podium, but sizing charts are the same for both models.

Sizing charts may suggest that but reach numbers are different between a large F Podium and a large Neat.

Yeh well i asked for Medium and by mistake it arrive in Large...i rode it yesterday and didnt notice it until a friend told me "hey but it says "L" in th back" jaja.... si made the claim to the local dealer and its his mistake, but now i dont know if i want to wait again to change it or just keep the large....
Going up it felt nice and stable...going downhill also amazing....maybe a little bit my arms are almost totally extended but not much....i have a full Levo 2021 in large and wanted to downsize because that one feels like to difficult to maneuver downhill in tight technical corners....and also i thought Mondraker were to long and the large would be difficult as well going down....ill have to try on tech switchbacks i guess...
Anyhow the bike is AMAZING....Neat RR in white.

Did you end up keeping the L or or go with the M?
I'm considering ordering a Neat RR (or possibly Dune RR) but the geo numbers are holding me back. My experience has been that I don't like long reach and prefer to size down if I'm between sizes. Maybe I'm missing something and the Mondraker geo numbers don't feel as crazy long as they look on paper. I'm 6' but went with a S4 Stumpjumper Evo and it feels every bit as long as I'd want a bike to be even though the Specialized calculator now says I should be on a S5 (I swear when I bought the bike it recommended S4 but I know geo has evolved since 2022, even though our bodies really haven't). Before my Stevo, I downsized to a M Trek Fuel even though Trek said I was clearly a Large. M/L would have been perfect if they had it, as I did feel the Trek was a little small (slid seat back a bit and went with 10mm longer stem) but reach on that bike was only 450mm vs 470 on the M Neat or 495 on the L Neat (with 30mm stem). My Stevo's reach is 475 (with a 40mm stem) which I guess would be 10mm shorter than the L Neat when correcting for stem length. The Dune's 485mm reach with 30mm stem would be comparable to my Stevo with 40mm stem. Reach on other bikes I'm looking at are 479 on L Slash+, 480 on L Heckler SL and 483 on Fuel Exe so the L Neat appears Looonnngggg. Wheelbase is also really long at 1255 and 1275 for M and L Neat, 1260 and 1285 on M and L Dune vs 1247 on my S4 Stevo, 1263 on L Heckler SL, 1247 on L Fuel Exe.
Wouldn't it be easier to take a M Neat and if it feels a little small, increase the stem or slide the seat back a bit? I've always felt that I would never want a longer bike than my S4 Stevo which is about perfect so if I got a L neat or Dune and I get the normal neck and trap pain when on a long bike, my options are limited since Mondrakers already run a really short stem. Or does my dislike for long bikes mean I shouldn't even be looking at Mondrakers? I really like the quiet, natural and stealthy TQ motor as I always ride alone and like to work hard on uphills. This is my first ebike and I plan to still use my Stevo a lot of the days so this bike is more for days when I want to go twice as far on eco mode or have my son ride it on days when I'm on my Stevo. If the geo of the Mondraker isn't for me, I may go with the Fuel Exe since it uses the same motor but I really think 160/150mm is the sweet spot for my trails. Thanks!

Also, how is the stability on downhills? One of the reviewers mentioned on descending that it wasn't very forgiving and would punish you if you got offline, compared to other bikes like the Heckler SL or Fuel exe. The way he described its sharp, precise handling sounded a little like putting a beginner skier on stiff slalom skis. I'm no beginner on MTB but with so few owners/reviewers of this bike, it's hard to know if what this reviewers was saying was accurate, or if it's a good all around bike. On my current SJ Evo, I don't really have to tiptoe and plan my lines way ahead so if I'm on a new trail, I can bomb it and pick my lines last minute so his comments caught me off guard.
