Mission Control Mission Control speed question

I’ve just had a motor change (1.3) and when I connected the old Mission Control app I noticed that the wheel circumference had gone back to the default. I wanted to change it back to 2000, which means it cuts out at about 27kph instead of 25kph which I find much better as it cuts out less and more smoothly. It took multiple attempts to do this because the app kept losing contact with the bike and I had to do it in stages but I got there eventually. Also, I noticed that on the diagnostics, the app did not pick up any information about the new motor except temperature, no hardware information or serial numbers etc. When I connected the new mission control app it did show information about the motor and the wheel circumference was 2000 (which is why I kept the old app) . I then did a test ride to see whether the cut out speed had increased. According to my Garmin, the motor was cutting out at about 27k, but I noticed speed on MC was about 2k slower. I thought MC picked up speed from iPhone GPS, but it seems it picks up speed from the speed sensor on the bike. Can anyone confirm this? I guess this would explain why reducing the circumference of the wheel “tricks” the bike into cutting out at 27k as the number of rotations tells the bike it’s only 25k. Hopefully, on day the restriction will be increased to 20mph as in the States.

In theory, but it seems that some LBS are reluctant to do this or even admit it can be done. I guess that if one changes from 27.5 to 29 or vice versa an LBS will change circumference but if it’s just to get a slightly higher (but very welcome) cut off, then they may we’ll be more reluctant to do this. So, if you have the old MC app which allows user to change circumference, hang on to it!
