Meta Power Shimano on/off button question

Hey guys!

First post here, but I've been seriously considering one of the 2020 Meta Power 29's as an upgrade from the current steed. While I'm sold on the bike itself, I do have fears about the location of the Shimano on/off switch on the side of the bike, as I've read some reviews on people turning them off during their rides - has anyone here had a problem with this?

I searched Rob's Youtube channel as a place to start, but couldn't find anything on the Meta's, nor the power button. In fact, I couldn't find many videos of the bike in general. One I did find, which I've attached (or at least, tried to attach...), says that they found they were hitting the legs on the on/off switch, but have made a little cover for it to prevent it from happening - has anyone here had experience with this either? They go into detail at around the 9:00 mark for this interested.

Kind regards, John.

Unusual position, but I’ve never come close to touching it while riding. It’s not a quick press either, it needs to be held down for a second or two, so personally I’d doubt any who says it’s an issue.

Ah, well that's good to hear! Do you think pedal style would affect it at all? Does your natural knee rotation ever go inwards? Maybe the one featured either has a faulty button, or maybe they've got monster-sized knee pads?

I’d bank on the faulty button theory over any other scenario. Even if your knee came close to it during normal riding (which it doesn’t), it would need to be a deliberate action to pause your peddling and push your knee inwards.

? can’t say this has ever happened to me, like previously mentioned the button needs a sustained press to work.
