Maxxis tyre weight discrepancy....

Afternoon all,

Just bought a Maxxis Rekon 29x2.6 Maxx Terra Exo+, weight on Maxxis website is 890g but mine is 1015g, I could live with 20g odd but over 100g surely cant be right - anyone else had such a big difference?

890g sounds about right for a 26x2.5 exo+ casing maxxis tyre
Are you sure you'd really want so little material used in a 29x2.6?
Sounds like that'd be a little flimsy to me.
Be careful what you wish for.

yep I think the new EXO+ is 60 tpi rather than 120

Yeah good shout guys. I messaged Maxxis and fair play they came back to me saying it is probably the new 60TPI reinforced tyre using an old hang card marked as 120TPI - apparently the new 60TPI tyres dont have the TPI stated on the tyre itself where the 120TPI does - mine doesnt so am happy enough to have a slightly beefier tyre I just didnt want a beefier tyre without the added reinforcement.
