Hi! I hope some of you have som wise words to share on which clipless pedal to choose.

I have a Turbo Levo 2020 and are thinking about changing from flat to clipless pedals. I have been reading a lot, and i think i will go for the Mallet E because of the wide angle of movement. BUT i am not sure which width i should choose. I like the thougt of a wider stance on the "LS" version, but i am also afraid that it will be to wide because of the extra width that the motor ads. I manly do trail/enduro riding.

Anybody who use the Mallet E (LS or not) and have som experience to share?
Does anyone know the width of the bottom bracket (width between crank arms?) on the levo´s?

I have the LS version and find they work well. Used regular mallets too, didn’t really notice that much difference in them in terms of foot position. You’ll adapt fairly quickly to either id have though ?

I did exactly the same as Rob.

I actually had normal and got the LS axel upgrade to try. And havn't looked back, biggest thing for me is no more hitting my ankles on the cranks. But I dont really feel anything differant.

Also if you get the LS, its 1 cap, 1 nut and 20secs to swap axles over to the normal ones which I know a few of us would have sitting around so could sell for cheap.

Also Crankbrothers are hte best at exactly what you say, Float, and the bushings and bearings last well, I usually do mine after every winter.

I have both versions as well as the Mallet DH's and I much prefer the DH as it gives a bit more support and I don't notice any difference in pedal clearance out on the trail. Like others have said with the standard axle my feet do rub the cranks and I do find it a bit hard to turn out of the pedal when its near level as there just isn't enough room between the crank and the shoe.

im doing the same, I went from tiny M959's to flats when I bought the Levo and now m going back with the mallet DH but I dont want to use the same shoes (really solid XC shoes before) - im looking for a more casual shoe like the five ten, what are you and everyone else using for the mallets ?

Five Ten Kestral Pro here. Isn't full out racer, but not big and heavy like an impact

They do have the nice 5ten flat bottom tho.

I wear a size 10 in DC shoes, and wear a 10 in them too. Fit seems spot on for me, but as with anything always hard to know - I might have liked a 10.5 to make them slightly wider. But I know the 11 at the store was to big and liked to slip off.
