Just bought a TEC pack mainly for peace of mind on longer runs...my knees need all the help they can get and even though it is one of the lightest Ebikes its still very heavy pedalling without assistance!
After MUCH negotiating with supplier got it for £420. Bloody expensive. Now they tell me they no longer sell Focus !
Never the less Have fun all.

Hey fellow Kiwi's... I am in Kapiti and ride a Trek Powerfly LT7 (Torpedo7 Boxing Day sale). Mates in my riding group are slowly changing over to ebikes. We have my Trek, a Turbo Levo, and a Jam2. I think that the Levo is the best all round trail bike for easier trails and commuting (29er wheels and low drag with assistance off or over the speed cut out). Shimano powered Jam2 is a nice all rounder and would make a reasonable commuter given the faster rolling tyres and the smooth engage / disengage of the motor, but definitely not as off road capable as the Powerfly or Levo. The Powerfly is like a Remedy on steroids - go anywhere, do anything trail / enduro bike. The Bosch motor is a pain with the drag when the assistance cuts out, but the eMTB mode is sooooo seamless on single track and the bike bombs down hill. That said, despite how poorly suited it is with the plus tyres and motor drag... I still use it for commuting - 'cos I can.

I luckily got my TEC pack as part of my good deal on my Jam although I am still waiting to get the TEC pack as it's en route from Germany but it will give the bike a huge range :)

Just realised it encourages me to ride in boost mode where as before I was very economical with battery use ..:pBring it On

Just thought I'd help turn this into a Kiwi thread;
I had the Jam2 for a while. With the tec pack it is amazing how far you can go. I did a ride in Italy 2200 vertical and over 60 km, and still had 3 stripes on my second battery at the end. Didn't use turbo much.
Really important when buying an E-bike is to try it and make sure you are comfortable on it. and secondly if possible buy it from a local reputable dealer. I had a shit load of problems with my Focus. If I had bought it online, I would have been lost. I got very good service from my dealer. The only negative point was that it was about 30 KM from where I live, and I calculated that I drove about 700 KM just bring in and picking up my bike.
