Anybody changed out their stock wheels on a turbo SL levo comp carbon to the light bicycle carbon wheels. I have been running these on a nine or 29 for two years with good luck.

I haven't yet , but in the near future I hope to. My plan is to purchase a SL and get some of their wheels made up. I just can't decide between 28 or 33mm inner width. both Have deep 28mm height. The 33's are only 60gram heavier per wheelset but they might be overkill and I'm not sure how a 2.3 tyre will seat on a rim this wide.

You can run up to a 2.5 tire on the stock fork!

id Run wider than that if it were not for the weight gain. I'll probably go with the 33mm rim and run 2.3 on back and 2.4 on front. I need mud tyres,, they are generally heavy

I've edited above as it's only 60gram per wheels difference. The 33 will be much stiffer, stronger an more versatile. I think I just answered my own dilemma lol

go for the 28
it will be plenty stiff and strong enough but lighter and more importantly give a better profile to 2.3-2.4 tyres

the 33 will be LESS versatile
I have the 28 on my bike. Final weight is 36lbs with pedals and swatch tool

Nice! Hopefully it won't be too long before I get an SL. I'm just waiting for the new expert To arrive and then assess how much I can wangle off the retail price. The spec looks great. Otherwise I will overhaul a carbon comp.

I went for the comp Carbon SL. selling the stock fork & wheels. Can upgrade the fork to a Lyric ultimate and my local shop can get me a set of the light bike wheels with I9 hubs. Upgrading will cost me aprox. $900-1000 for much better components ( I’ve had good success with the light bikes wheels and am assuming they are as good or better than specializeds) than the expert and still save me about $500 to upgrade the drivetrain when I wear out the original. My 2 cents. ? P. S. They brakes on the comp Carbon have been upgraded for 2021.

Think this one would work with 2.5’s? I like the idea of lighter!

Can you send a link to the 28 that you have. I can’t seem to find this wheel. Thanks.

of course it would.
World Cup Downhill and EWS Enduro racers still mainly run 2.35, 2.4 & 2.5" tyres on 25-30mm rims.
pretty much none run wider than 30mm
They also don't necessarily want the absolute stiffest rims available
There's good reason for this

The fox performance elite may be a good fork, but from what I’ve researched, the performance elite isn’t as good as their fox 36 factory fork which compares favorably to the Lyric Ultimate. I still think my idea of saving the &1500.00 and upgrading is the way to go. But what do I know?!?. The upgrades to the drivetrain are awesome though!

yeah, it's a dilemma for sure. The price will be higher this year for the expert too. I'm sitting on my money at present in no rush unless a good deal pops up. I also have fox 36 factory and a cane creek iL coil shock on my full fat levo and a set a of Magura mt7 brakes boxed n new in a drawer. I think my ff levo will become a donor bike before I sell it?

Pretty sure the only difference between the Performance Elite and Factory is the Kashima coating on the fork.

From memory everything else is the same internally. Same damper and chassis.
