Got this delivered today, I still need a few hours setting it up but managed to fit my front light off my old cube 140 so all good. It doesn't work on the kiox light button. I got the shop to install my light last year on the old bike.
Seriously have I got to take the bike in to connect up to there software just to turn the light function on  or is there another way? What a pain in the arse.

I’m afraid so, I had to do the same with my exposure light. The reason is different lights run on different amps and volts so the shop sets it to the correct output. It only takes 60 seconds.

Thanks mate , that's a pain looks like no evening rides for me until its done then :( I can see me on eBay spunking 250 quid on a battery light because I don't think I can wait for the inconvenience lol.

I know I had hassle getting a shop to do it for me, got told stuff like fully booked for months and sorry only if we sold you the bike etc. In the end I rang leisure lakes bikes and they said bring it in anytime it only takes a minute, and it did but I also got the software update done at the same time.

Yeah I was contemplating fitting wired in lights to my cube but when I realised all the hassle I would go through...

Very expensive lights and difficult to get hold of.

Potentially dropping motor to wire in the cables.

little or no choice in the type of light which can be wired in

Needing to take bike to shop and getting it reprogrammed / updated to accept lights
Some stories of people having this done and whoever did the reprogramming in the shop clicked on the wrong option and it caused other issues with the motor

for the above reasons there is absolutely no way I would have a wired in light

Can't move it between multiple bikes either

To be honest its dead easy, No need to drop the motor or anything complicated, battery out and motor covers off, the plug goes to the rear port. At least if you do it yourself you can actually solder the bosch plug onto the light wires unlike the shop that fitted mine to a brand new bike and just twisted the wire round then applied insulation tape

I popped into a shop on the way home from work tonight and asked if and when they could activate the bosch light unit, apparently February lol so I purchased an exposure race 15 from them  .

Get wired in lights. It is so f..ing convenient always having them there. no worries about dead batteries or forgetting the lights.
I have always added them to my last 3 bikes and every time I use them was thankfull I took the effort to do it.

Any particular one you would recommend for a cube hardtail? Front and back lights would be great

My lights are about 4 years old now. I have the B&M LUMOTEC IQ-X E on the front and the Supernova E3 on the back.
I made a small L bracket out of some aluminium and mounted it on my rear brake caliper.
