Hi all. Cleaning the bike and the chain and when turning the crank to clean the chain, I noticed some resistance (seemed higher than before) and you could hear what sounded like motor / gears turning. Does anyone else experience this please?
Im not sure what you mean but if you turn the pedals forward you will turn the rear wheel but i think the motor is disengaged when switched off but that doesnt mean all of the gearing is disengaged, there must be an internal gears that meshes with the motor once turned on. If you turn the pedals backwards they should just spin freely.Just been doing some digging around and this site (Here) specifies the motor disengages when the speed restriction is exceeded, potentially meaning it is always engaged as default.
You have to turn the spider / chainring rearward, this turns the chain and allows you to clean / oil it without having to spin the back wheel.Im not sure what you mean but if you turn the pedals forward you will turn the rear wheel but i think the motor is disengaged when switched off but that doesnt mean all of the gearing is disengaged, there must be an internal gears that meshes with the motor once turned on. Was there some resistance and gear noise when you turned it over? With my previous levo i used to stick an allen key in one of the chainring bolts to turn the chainset backwards, now i just raise the rear wheel and press the walk button
