It's not that weird. You have to look a what Brose supply to Specialized and what Brose markets as their own system as two separate things. Specialized have only ever used the Brose motor. They develop everything else themselves so they are not running a Brose "system". As I said above do not read Brose dates for their own new system's release as release dates for anything by Specialized.
Well the current motor is a bog standard brose s-mag. The only difference is the software. So if brose talks about starting up the production line in june its a weird wording because it would be nonsensical to have a separate production line for the same motor just because its labeled as specialized.

Would be interesting if this is the case. I think it would be pretty underwhelming if it is a Brose peak given the figures we know about it. Especially when compared to the DJI. Maybe Mahle have cooked up something good.
Interested why you would say an efficient 48V Brose motor would be underwhelming compared to a DJi 36 volt motor. You can’t just look at peak values because nobody rides at peak values for any length of time. 48volt should have great efficiency for a start & may well have a great torque curve

As a package after riding a DJI Avinox a few times it’s a great trail bike but definitely finds its limits far quicker than a Levo. That’s not a criticism though as the Avinox is a trail bike and is definitely lighter duty than an upper model Levo running 38’s etc. it’s a whole package.

There will be two versions …. Higher power for S-works and Pro and the rest get a lower powered motor. Now if it is the same motor with different software setting providing the power or different motors on the s works and pro I don’t know.

No, wait, it's going to be 2WD with hub motors from Ali Express and battery cells from the old forklift they abandoned when it couldn't move under it's own power any more.

Rumour has it that they've got around the speed limit issues and massively reduced the weight by creating the first motor less emtb !

Expect to pay a premium for this technological advancement though.

When they were developing the original Mahle version, there were two versions of the motor with different power levels - though the emtb bikes were all spec'd with the high power version of the motor.

With the delays, it's looking like they've moved away from that version, but there's no reason why they can't limit the amp draw on different models.

The only thing that interests me is that the new levo can charge 80% of the 700-850wh battery in 1.5 hours and the charger is half as heavy. Otherwise the levo fails for me and I'll stick with the gen3 levo. Or just switch to dji supported bikes.

If you listen to the podcast, they don't seem interested in doing that due to the decreased battery life. An option to fast or slow charge would be nice I guess?

Aren't the bikes expensive enough? If they decide introducing in App Payments for monthly subscriptions, I will not consider a new Levo in the future anymore!
Crazy! I heard that even the average usage time is supposed to be limited to 2 hours per week! If you want to ride more, you’ll have to unlock it via an app. However, only the SWORKS Modell should be a flat-rate model, but I wonder how much that will cost...

Perhaps this refers to the current comp and base levos from 2025 sticking around for another while yet while the new one is released?

I think it would be a strange move to release the new levo with two different power options especially when the current SL is still around. I would really hope they are not gonna lock something premium behind some sort of paywall.

My levo would pull 160-170w on charge, my DJI pulls 470-480w. It's crazy how fast it charges

Fast charging would be good to have only as an option (with a press of a button on the charger or setting in the app), but fast charging the battery every charging session when most of the time you won't really need it or benefit from it, will just make the battery degrade much faster ...

No, no, you can't buy the S-WORK models from now with only money. You need to be a loyal customer, you need to prove you bought all the old Levo generations brand new, and after that you can get the new S-WORK model for a measly 30 000 euro.

Yeah, with the Avinox system you can really stress the battery if you're heavy and a bit stupid. Maybe a reason why the 600Wh battery in the velomotion test shut off. They might have cooked the cells of the testbike if it was given to multiple outlets who stressed the battery to the max for weeks plus fast charging and whatnot.
