getting tired of waiting , dealer in New Zealand said Gen3 was sitting dock side for almost 6 months before releasing due to old stock. At the point I can’t. Even buy a 2023 model here in my size. No stock or maybe one plain black colour. Now thinking about orbea wild or Rocky Mountain altitude or pivot am if specialized can’t pull finger and just release the new models.

Today I contacted spesh in my country . Wanting to know if they are restocking any colours for 2023 models. As I said above , no stock in my size or just a few basic blacks or an s-works edition maybe. so either waiting for more stock or next model. The very unhelpful reply I got was they won’t have ANY new stock for at least 12 months. Obviously I don’t believe that given it would mean no stock for the next bike season in oct here. Seems like waiting much longer to release a new bike will screw them on sales . At least here where nothing to buy.

Most other countries seem over stocked

gen3 was released just 2y ago, i guess it's a bit too early.
they could bump up the travel - 170/160mm - apart that, current model is just amazing, a lot of customisations, geo is one of the most aggressive anyway.
maybe different motor ?

I must admit, ive had my gen 3 now for two weeks and am rather un-impressed. I don't find it that much better than than the gen 2 I also have. I think I should of waited for the gen 4 and just kept riding the gen 2 ...

Lets hope this gen 4 is worth the wait for anyone still sitting on the fence.

Does anyone actually read the thread ..

It's been bad enough trying to drop clues and not make it obvious like the Mahle M40 thread in the mahle section last March ...
Latest spyshots are out!

Will Specialized also enter this Full Power SL segment? A new Turbo Levo Full Power SL?

Cannondale Monterra SL
"Moterra SL is the first 160mm/150mm trail bike to pack 85Nm of torque, 600W+ of peak output, and 601Wh of power into a machine weighing as little as 19.5kg /43lbs."

idnt giant already do this with their trance advanced x elite series. 85nm smaller battery. Not as light as the cannondale. Hanging out for specialized to do something.

I think the weight is similar, but the travel of the Giant is only 150mm/140mm, and the battery is 400Wh.

so it has power and battery like full power emtb (the same motor and weight, battery maybe .5kg lighter?), but weights 2.5-3kg less....
so which parts are weaker and less durable then ?
Cannondale has already (for >10y) opinion of making weak and snapping carbon frames...

Unfortunately - looking forward to any news...
Yup I’d take any news. Tried a pivot shuttle am this weekend. Nice bike. But funnily enough no stick in the country to buy. Same as specialized .. seems I can’t buy a bike if I wanted to let alone waiting for a new model :). Crazy

Competition also still launches - so better Speci is following in 2024 regarding a Gen 4 Turbo Levo at least for autumn.

Wish they would send some carbon comp or experts in the different colours this way .. specialized may aswell shut up shop here if they don’t start getting stock of anything

Stock is low in Japan, too. I see posts here saying that there is an overstock problem, but not in Japan. Certain countries seem to have a lot of stock, though, but for some reason New Zealand and Japan are not over stocked.

I was at the lbs last week and they told me Specialized has everything on hold till all their bike get a UL certification because all the battery fires from other bike makers. The shop told me this should be complete by summer….. again, this is what I was told so I have no idea how true it is.

Ahh summer in which country, summer just passed me :) I'm into autumn and winter .. i assume you are talking middle o this year?
And UL certification would mean a lot of challenges ? as worldwide there are different requirements in different regions. AUS/NZ/JP/US and so on.. Out of interest what needs to be certified, id natively assumed they wouldn't radically change too much. Again id assumed The individual components would have already been certified ( if needed ) as they are not specialized 2024 specific?

Cheers for the update though.

His location shows New Jersey. Can't you get in touch with an Australian shop, and get them to ship you a bike? I looked into it, but a lot of shops won't ship to Japan. I ended up just going to Taiwan and getting my Levo. The guy at the bike shop in Taipei told me that he could get me anything that I wanted. But here in Japan, I think we're in the same situation that you are in New Zealand. Stock is dry.
