But it's mainly what the gen4 offers over the gen3.

For anyone who doesn't want much power, you can buy a KSL/SL.

For anyone who wants a great all round bike at (discounted) semi reasonable prices and good power/range/altitude, the Gen3 Levo.

If you have to have a Specialized, want even more power and price isn't a factor, then the Gen4. OK, it also has an inbuilt mini safe for your cash if you're using it for urban drug sales.

Obviously there's a million variations and exceptions to that, but as a very basic overview.

But if you want a gen3 alternative, would like more power for who knows what and don't like the bulky motor area, the Amflow must tick a lot of people's boxes ... and the Vala or the latest Rail.

Not meaning to wind anyone up, this is only the Gen4 rumours thread and not the Temple of Gen4 , so I think some other boring conversation is ok :)

OK, an S-works can FAST FAST charge ... or just buy two Amflow's and put one on charge whilst you ride the other if that's so important.
My main problem last half of the year/year is what to buy, I am on my 4th season with gen2 Levo and I just want to try something new, but is it wort it? 2 things I dont like are head tube angle and 29/29 setup, both can be fixed by mullet setup, yes there will be still some differences vs Gen 3(gen 3 has shorter chainstay and more progressive rear) but nothing revolutionary- same motor and battery.
Gen 4 looks good to me, more reliable motor (we can hope) and bigger battery (although current 700wh is enough for me), but question is what to buy, I already have these new parts in spare cause I bought them for cheap and I wanted to buy gen 3 S works frameset, basically everything except frameset:

Fox 38 170mm grip2
Float X Factory 2025
2 sets of Traverse HD 240/350 wheelsets
X fusion seatpost
mechanical Sram XX1 grouset with 2 chains
Raceface Era handlebars 780mm
Hope gravity stem 35mm
Hope F22 pedals
Conti Argotals DH etc...

I am thinking about S works gen 4 frameset or Gen 4 comp carbon, but question is, is it worth it? I have already top spec Levo except of wireless seatpost (dont need it) and electric shifting.

So moving away from the amflow vs gen4 levo...

Who do we feel most sorry for: the Spesh marketers that somehow kept a reasonably good secret until the week before launch, or the poor emtbforums moderator who is going to have a real :poop: Monday morning?
The problem is, this website is not an independent consumer site, or journalist source. It's an industry gatekeeper. So you're not going to get the truth here before the industry tells them it's okay. This website is supported by, and works for, the industry, not us.

Nice. What kind of handlebars do you have? Also, do you notice a big difference between the Fox 36 vs. the Fox 38 forks? I have the Fox 36 on my Levo Gen 3 and was wondering if I should get the Fox 38s.

It depends..If you are lighter and you like more trail riding 36 is good, if you are on heavier side and prefer ride more aggressively or enduro than 38 is better choice.
I've been riding Raceface Sixc 780mm 35mm rise for 3 years, they were good but also stiff. This season I switched to 780mm 40mm rise Raceface Era and I can confirm they are much better and more comfortable. (my hands dont hurt after long ride)
Basically they are on every new Pro and S works Spesh.

Have you ever been on an AMflow? I loved my last 22MY S Works Levo, then I had a go on an AMflow it’s like a fairground ride.. Over a 17 mile course I know well the AMflow is 20 mins faster than what I was on my last S works.

I have never followed any thread or did read any test of this Amflow E-MTB. Because I don´t care about this bike. I´m simply not interested in it. And I´m quite sure that I´m not the only one here in this thread.;)

Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

I do this with the BBC.
I don’t watch it, I don’t listen to it.

That way it doesn’t affect me.

Since most of the info about the bike including the look is out, who is buying one and what model ?
Probably buying one next week, but only because there are no DJI-powered bikes available here this side of summer (maybe even this year). Levos are popular and should be easy to sell on once I can get something with a proper motor . Too bad Specialized is content with not being at the forefront anymore.

Reading between the lines, I think half the people reading this thread have seen the embargoed images of the bike.

Once the images and specs are with the dealers, they show their friends, who show their friends and that's it.

Thanks again everyone who's been restrained from posting the main images, obviously we've let a couple stay.

The most disappointing thing is the lack of member creativity this time around ;) . At least with the SL2 launch some effort was made with pre-launch leaked images.

Apologies, but this sounds so dumb. A proper motor.... So enlight me please why DJI is proper and this one on the upcoming with bigger removable battery, a smidge under the power of the Chinese is not?

P.S. I don't have a spesh and not planning to get one soon

Ordered the SWorks paid in full , can’t explain how excited I am , to see exactly what it looks like rides like and what the motor can do
Same here paid my dips months ago, dealer said I can have there 1st S works around launch date. Going for a Red one. Will still keep AMflow as it’s way to fast when riding with my mates etc. The S works should even things out a bit..

So is nobody interested to talk about the Brose ebike division sale to Yamaha, what it brings in terms of future development of the drives.

I did some diging/thinking and what striked me is the implementation of the so called PW-LINK for Yamaha's new line of motors, basically a CAN-Open communication standard for all hardware.

Interestingly Brose with the new Drive Peak³ motor(the gen4 is suposedly using) also implemented the CAN-Open communication standard with the 48V system.

From a Brose Drive³ test 》
Due to the lack of compatibility between the existing 36-V Brose Motorsystem and the new 48V System as well as the introduction of new communication protocols (CANopen) between the components, it is necessary to equip the Brose Drive³ Motorsystem with completely new batteries, displays and remote units.

Also as already pointed out there is suposedly going to be a new Giant motor with 48V later on and I could think this might have already been a collaboration of some kind.

I wonder if this Yamaha-Brose takeover was in the works for a while and that also contributed to the repeated delays for the gen4 🤔🤷‍♂️

I’m sorry, what now?

@Black Bear Trail are you sure about that, I'm pretty sure I've shared lots here which probably shouldn't have been and read lots here which I probably shouldn't have - some of it about bikes too ! :ROFLMAO:

Maybe it's just me, but most of the times I've seen you post it's been asking questions which have been answered multiple times on previous pages (in this thread and previous threads).

Maybe you think things are secretly hidden, just because you HAVEN'T FREEKIN LOOKED ??
