Levo Gen 3 Levo Gen 3 : No firmware updates in about 2 years

I travelled to Taiwan to buy my Levo Gen 3. The owner of the main Specialized shop in Taipei told me that updating the firmware is not that important. I asked him about it, because I live in Japan and the Levo is illegal in Japan and Specialized shops in Japan cannot update the firmware for me. So don't worry too much about not being able to update your firmware.

I had my gen 3 levo (with Mastermind 1 TCU) updated at the shop Wednesday.

Motor: 8.1.5 > 8.6.0
Display: 9.B.0 > B.B.0
Battery: 4.5.4 > 4.6.6

I went to shop for a new remote as mine got damaged, asked them to update it at same time since I'm here.

First, the remote has different icons clearly it's for the latest mastermind but whatever buttons do the same thing / same place.

Initially I noticed pressing the Walk button now causes the battery lights to move forward in a wave I don't think it did that before, pretty/worked fine... Then the bike stopped walking.

Pressing the button a dozen times nothing happened, so I planned to go back to the shop this weekend, having a ride last night planned which I didn't want to cancel.

Pressing walk button during this ride worked, sometimes.

But what was concerning was I placed the bike against a tree a few seconds after pressing the Walk button and about 30 seconds later the bike walked itself and fell over, just made me think if I was scouting a drop that would of hurt.

I also found if I hit walk and it doesn't work, while riding shortly after the motor will just die on me for a second, just zero assistance... Not dangerous but not great.

Anyone else had this experience? I plan to spend the weekend testing it then contacting specialized & going back to the shop before it tries to walk me off a cliff.

Yeah, I went to shop and they asked if I'd booked it in, nope just swinging by during lunch break, bit of umm / ahh & they had to go round back and find out price of updating (free) but that whole process is insane... Took 10-15 minutes, bewildering choice by Specialized.
I heard from one of the beta test I think in another thread that’s it is scheduled to be added back into the app.

It is really simple: do not update if you have no issues.
"Improvements" are amost fr nothing. So better to follow the rule "if it's working don't fix it".
I never updated mine starting from when they asked us to go to shop to update the battery firmware first.
