Levo Gen 2 Levo Expert Upgrades ??

Hi Guys!

Belated Happy new year to you all.

Considering taking the plunge and putting some upgrades onto the 2020 Expert.

Looking to purchase the following this week :

Fox 38 Float Factory GRIP2 29" 2021 170MM 15QR110 44mm Offset (non e-bike)
Fox Float X2 Factory 2POS-Adj 2021 210x55
Fox Transfer 2021 175MM Dropper

I have a few questions:

Fox 38
44mm Offset the right offset to go with?
Will the stearing Tube need cut?
Is 15QR110 the right one?
Will the non Ebike specific 38 be okay?
With 170mm Travel Should i flip the chip to High?

Fox X2

What mounting hardware do i need?
Will it be a straight swap?

Fox Transfer
Will the 175mm version sink all the way in? so i can have the seat in the lowest possible position?
Where can i get a shim for the LEvo Expert to drop it to 31.6 Diameter?

Steering tube will definitely need to be cut down. Did the 38 (51mm), Float X2 and Transfer on my 2019 Expert. Also just swapped out the Code R brakes for Magura MT7 (220mm). Love the full setup

Nice upgrade mate.

Are you changing the air spring to 160mm and if so do you have a link to a source in the US for the correct part?

Wanted to stick to with the standard spec. Figure the Specialized engineers know this stuff way better than I do! Will take a couple of pics later today. Have been meaning to add to the 'modified levo' thread

That was my thinking intially, but increasing travel to me puts the front wheel out and i was concered about slower steering so went 44 to bring wheel back a bit. But i went for 170mm travel.

Forks were meant to arrive yesterday but they didnt. so coming monday now :(

When new, I upgraded my 2019 comp carbon to have Fox 36 160 Kashima, Fox transfer dropper and later swapped from Fox DPS to DPX2. Mine is 210*52.5, not sure about stroke on 2020 models. All worked have faultlessly for me and are highly recommended. I have not considered switching to Fox 38 as heavier and IMO weight/balance is currently optimal as bike including pedals (plus santa cruz carbon rims with CK hubs and carbon bars) and 504w battery weighs 20kg.

for me this is perfect compromise between weight and stability/ manoeverability.

DPX2 is more planted than DPS

The increase in fork length increases the Front Center length but decreases the headtube angle slightly and that increases the Trail measurement. A lower fork offset reduces the Front Center but it also increases the Trail measurement. A longer Trail measurement tends to make the steering feel slower.
